  1. I will let you know what I think of it in a week or two. I'm planning on cutting on it totally for a week or two. Nice thing to me is that the Hegner is tall enough so I can stand up and cut on it and then when my legs get tired, I can sit down and cut on the Hawk because it is the perfect size for cutting while you're sitting down on a stool.
  2. So I finally took a break from editing pictures to set up my new (to me) Hawk 226VS. I took the older Dewalt 788 apart to stored it so I could have the Hegner and Hawk as my go to saws. Well here is what it sounds like with a blade in it. Oh and the blade is a FDUR#5 if that matters to anyone. Hawk Saw Running with Blade Thanks everyone who has helped me with this. I'm very happy with it. Now I just need to get some more walnut and cut out more racers. Thanks Jim PS Is there any tricks to getting the blade into the top blade holder? Or is it just something to get used to?
  3. So a while ago I was using a spiral blade Flying Dutchmen and as long as I was going forward or backward it worked fine. But when I tried to go side to side the blade would just bend. Now I don't remember what size blade it was but I want to say I was using a 1/4" plywood left over piece. Like I said I was tying to get use to using that type of blade. Has anyone else had that problem?
  4. That is awesome Charlie.
  5. Thanks everyone, I found that hole. I would have seen that hole on the saw if I had looked at my video I had made.
  6. Yeah Dave, I would love to make enough with my woodworking and photography. That would be the life.
  7. Thanks everyone, I will look at the saw when I home tonight. I have the 226VS ULTRA. Back to the race track.
  8. So I'm sitting here at the race track resting from a busy day of taking pictures and I'm trying to figure out how to attach a light to my Hawk. Has anyone attached a light to the actual table or do you attach it to something close by? Thanks Jim
  9. I put mine out with the trash.
  10. Thank you everyone for the kind words. Well these 4 are already sold and I won't even make it to the track till Saturday morning. Busy busy busy I will be before the next race weekend, the weekend after Labor Day.
  11. Thanks everyone, I was watching a video on youtube for the Hawk 220, 226 and 216. I think when the allen wrench came into play they were talking about the 216.
  12. Does the Hawk 226VS use a allen wrench to adjust the lower blade clamp? Mine didn't have one come with it.
  13. Thank you John, no they are awards. But they might be for next race season.
  14. Thank you Kevin.
  15. Thank you Rockytime, no these were done on my Hegner. Hoping to start tinkering with the Hawk next week sometime.
  16. Well I have 4 more motorcycles in the glue up stage. Then tomorrow I can put the clear coat on it. Racers are awfully anxious to get these. This is what I have been doing after work and on weekends when it isn't too hot in the garage. Jim
  17. You know what Ray, I have lived in Colorado Springs since around 1980. I don't remember having hail damage until the last couple of years.
  18. Thanks John, I will start working with it sometime next week. So I'm sure I'm going to have a bunch of questions again. Can't wait to get started with it.
  19. Well sis and I just had a hell of a hail storm come through yesterday (the hail was tennis ball size). It just tore the snot out of our garage door. So maybe with the insurance company help I can get me a insulated door and larger garage door opener.
  20. Thanks Dave, I think I did to. Just have to wait till next week to really find out.
  21. Dad gum it Ray, I thought I was going to get to snag me another Hegner . Even though mine is the Multimax 18v also. I'm really wanting to find a nice Multimax 22v.
  22. Heck Ray, what Hegner do you have?
  23. It's such a tough life you live Paul
  24. Does anyone know what I could get a cover to go over my Hawk 226VS? I don't see it on RBI's website. Thanks Jim
  25. Well I got the saw. Good times ahead.
