  1. I have an Epson ET2850 and really like it. It is super economical to print with because you don't have to buy cartridges.
  2. I am fascinated by the epoxy projects. May have to try it some day.
  3. Awesome pattern and cutting. I think you are as insane as @Jim Blume to tackle a project like this.
  4. Thanks so much. I'm sure you could teach me a thing or two about intarsia.
  5. Thanks Ralph, I really think I'm the lucky one.
  6. It is about 16" x 16" outside of the frame
  7. So cute. Great paint job.
  8. Thanks so much. Hopefully at least the memory will.
  9. Your bowls are awesome! They must have been a bugger to sand.
  10. The wood is all natural. No paint or stain. I sprayed it with about four coats of lacquer which brings out that texture in the wenge. I really don't know why because the wood doesn't look like it has much texture before I spray it.
  11. Great job Kevin. You sure are a great guy to the people you meet.
  12. Thanks for the kind words Paul. We have two grandsons that live within 30 minutes from us that could care less about my shop. Kylie has always liked me to help her make projects which totally delights me.
  13. We are blessed to have our 13 year old grand daughter spend a week with us. I am in heaven when she asks to spend time with me in my shop learning a new scrolling technique. She did just about everything herself on this Spiderman box. She is definitely a perfectionist.
  14. About 175 pieces of wenge and aspen. I really don't consider it intarsia because every piece is the same height and very little shaping.
  15. I has to do with the way they put the tilt mechanism.
  16. It does have a pin. The table is flat where the pin is. If the slit was in the same place as the standard bandsaw I don't think I would have noticed the small ledge but it is 90 degrees from the normal saw.
  17. About six weeks ago I purchased a Pegas Scroll Bandsaw from @Denny Knappen. I received the saw quickly. After Setting it up and using it I discovered that the table was not flat. There is a split through the table that allows you to install the blade. The back half was a touch higher than the front so the edge of my wood would catch on it when I would push it across. It was useable but annoying especially considering the cost of the saw. I was expecting more precision from Pegas. I couldn't find a customer service number on line so I contacted Denny. I was really disappointed in the lack of technical support that Pegas has. I will say that Denny bent over backwards and got Pegas to replace the table. I sure am glad I bought the saw from someone that is all about customer service. If you do intarsia I highly recommend the saw and of coarse purchasing it through Denny. In the past couple of years I have purchased a new dust collector, table saw, drum sander and band saw. The table saw and band saw was the same brand, the band saw was different, and the dust collector was a Jet. The table saw the blade was not mounted in the saw straight and there was not enough adjustment to line it up. Finally after about six months of emails and being ignored I finally got a hold of someone in management that said they would have to replace it. On the band saw the bottom blade guide had a piece missing and I had to make a wood spacer to make it useable. It took me about three months to finally get a hold of a guy to take care of that problem. About two months ago my drum sander died. It took a week before tech support responded to my call. For the past month my dust collector occasionally popped the small breaker on the control panel. About a week ago I called tech support and they called me back in about an hour. Within two days I had a new breaker. That didn't fix it so I called tech support this morning and they called me back within five minutes. The technician explained to me how to take the cap off the motor and adjust a switch. So far so good. Jet has won my future machinery business. Customer service and tech support is more important to me than the cost.
  18. All I can say is that you are a hell of a lot faster than I am. Good job!
  19. Great message. Nice job.
  20. Great work! Your walls must be full by now.
  21. Just checking on you. Hadn't heard anything out of you for a while.

Still kicking, Dave, thanks for asking.... working through old age issues.. Hope to get back to scrolling again one of these day..  Been following your beautiful work..  Your chest set made me think, have you ever heard of Alternative Ivory?  I used it quite a bit when make pens on the lathe.. I've been thinking of seeing how well it scrolled.. would make beautiful chess pieces if it will scroll.. Not sure what it is made out of...

  22. The pattern is from the book The Art Of The Scroll Saw
