  1. That is a beauty Dick. And such an honor to have it hanging in city hall.
  2. Those sure are colorful. Nice job.
  3. Nice pattern and cutting. Glad to see you are back at it.
  4. Thanks for you kind words Dick. You out shine me in a lot of things you make.
  5. I use lacquer on everything except puzzles.
  6. It is about 6" long. No idea how long a cigar is but it can be made any length.
  7. Thanks so much. I was inspired by Steve Good's Tube Box pattern to make this. If you use Inkscape I can send the SVG file. tubebox.pdf
  8. Thanks, When a fella spend 6-8 hours a day in the shop you're bound to come up with a decent project now and then.
  9. I like the idea of candy.
  10. I use 1/2" baltic birch for backers and end up with a lot of scrap. Cut them up in strips and glued them face to face to make usable pieces to make this box. I only do something like this when my planer blades are super dull and I'm ready to change them because all the glue and end grain in the plywood will dull them quick. I used stain to even the wood color out a bit.
  11. I've got a Pegas that I've used pretty hard for over two years. Haven't had any issues at all with it.
  12. Congrats! I would imagine you will have a sore back from sitting at your saw this week.
  13. Those really brought a smile to my face. Great job!
  14. Too cute. Nice job!
  15. Always so colorful. Nice job!
  16. I really don't see a big advantage doing what he did. It could still use an elbow.
  17. Not a day goes by that I don't use my drum sander. I get most of my lumber in the rough which is about 1" thick. I make a lot of inlaid boxes using 3/8" stock. I will resaw my lumber with my bandsaw and then run it through my drum sander. I end up with two useable pieces. A drum sander will also sand some pretty small pieces. Just tell your wife that Dave said you need a drum sander.
  18. Glad to see you are hard at it. When I see your post I always know that I'm going to see some brightly painted pretty stuff.
  19. Fantastic pattern and cutting.
  20. I went back and looked again and you are right.....Their 12x12 precut pack price includes shipping
  21. It looks to me like Cherokee is charging for shipping.
  22. I checked them out. On 40 pieces It would have been $4.00 cheaper ordering from Ocooch. Etsey charged sales tax which made a difference. Thanks.
  23. Awesome job! I like the stained frame better than the gold.
  24. My local supplier was out of 1/8" Baltic Birch. I use several 12 x 12 pieces for plaques. Received these today. Quality is pretty good. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1246453126/3mm-18-x-12-x12-baltic-birch-22-pack-or?
