  1. I might as well weigh in with my two sense. I have a Hegner and a Pegas. On my Hegner I can only bottom feed. My Pegas I can bottom or top feed. For me it is much easier to top feed.
  2. Very nice Dick. I'm sure they will love it.
  3. It is and African Mahogany. It is harder than the regular Mahogany I have.
  4. I have three of those in different grits also but I don't use them as much as other types.
  5. I have several different types but for this project I think I used this one. https://www.woodworkingshop.com/product/PARMM072/ I used mainly a 120 grit. I also have it in a 80 and 220 grit.
  6. Very nice work. The rose is my favorite.
  7. Their web site says they are 230 volt. That would be unhandy.
  8. I really like it. Nice job!!
  9. I've never seen poplar ply. Where do you get it?
  10. It is a commissioned plaque for a future wedding. I don't remember where I found the tree clip art. I added the little birds on it. I really think the plaque would look better square with rounded corners but my client wanted it oval.
  11. Yes, I do have a Pegas scroll bandsaw. I also have a Pegas and Hegner scroll saw.
  12. Thanks Kevin. I really have no desire to own a CNC. I can find enough to do with the equipment I have to satisfy me.
  13. You are more than welcome.
  14. I do go to their location. It is actually a guy that has a building behind his house that he keeps lumber in. I don't buy much from him because of their limited inventory. Last time I went he had 1/2 dozen very nice 1/4 sawed sapele boards. Most of my wood I get from Dallas Hardwood. I use usually use my Pegas for any angle work I do and my Hegner for anything else. The Hegner is a work horse and will outlast the Pegas by a long shot. I use my Pegas scroll band saw for most of my Intarsia work.
  15. The wood is 3/4" and used a pegas #5 MGT blade.
  16. I buy it locally http://www.mckinneyhardwoods.com/ . If you want a small amount I would be happy to ship you some.
  17. Thanks so much.
  18. You sure have been busy. Nice job Marg.
  19. I crafted this plaque using ribbon striped (quarter sawed) sapele. When cutting the tree I set my saw at approximately a two degree angle. The tree worked well for this because it was one continuous cut. I pushed the tree out about 1/2 way and did a lot of sanding with a sanding mop. I'm very happy with the look.
  20. I've seen videos of people using spiral blade that they've had amazing control of their cutting. I've tried them several times on stacked 1/8" baltic birch. Didn't take me long to scrap the idea and go back to a flat blade. I hate how ragged it leaves the cut. Maybe I used the wrong blade. My go to blades are the #3 & #5 MGT.
  21. She is totally amazing. I can't imagine cutting without some type of pattern. Did you notice how much she had her saw raised in the back?
  22. I really like the top one. Great job.
  23. Please let us know how it works out.
  24. Nice job! Are you making your own patterns for the bowls? What do you think of the saw?
