  1. Awesome Idea. How about a link to the product on Etsy?
  2. I use tacky glue or 3M77 spray glue.
  3. That is totally amazing! You are sure inspiring.
  4. That's the only way I know to play the game also.
  5. Thanks so much for the reminder about white on bottom right. I sure wasn't thinking there. Will have to change that.
  6. I saw a magnetic chess set similar to this on Esty so I thought I would give it a shot. The second picture is the back side showing how I put the magnets in the board. I should have cleaned up my bench before I took the picture. I used CA glue to glue the 1/4" magnets on the back of the chess pieces.
  7. Don't know of any. You might have to go with a stain.
  8. Great pattern and cutting. One of my favorites.
  9. I've seen the ones with shelves but I like the idea of magnets better. Thanks for sharing.
  10. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1221023515/chess-board-game-wall-decor-wooden-chess?click_key=ed5a03b95ee187a06e91bf2d6ada976717a9d447%3A1221023515&click_sum=f0c4e34a&ref=shop_home_active_79&pro=1&frs=1&sts=1 Do you think the squares are glued to metal? What type of magnet do you think you would use?
  11. It came out awesome Paul. Your inlays came out great.
  12. You have taken scrolling to a totally new level. This piece is very humbling. Awesome job!
  13. Awesome job. You sure are stepping up your game.
  14. Great idea. Looks really good. Must have been hard to miter those small pieces.
  15. I really love this stool. Took a bit to get used to. It doesn't go quite as high as most stools but it also goes to chair height. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F8NXBXD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  16. When I use my sled I take the insert plate and splitter off. Really no need for it. The only other thing you might think about is being able to use a stop block so you can duplicate parts. Not sure how you can do that with the dowel. My saw is a left tilt so I have the blade on the left side of the sled with more working distance on the rt.
  17. That is an awesome sled. Never saw one quite like it. It is a heck of a lot fancier than mine. I would hate to cut a 45 into it. Maybe make another one just to cut 45s.
  18. Awesome box. I have a chop saw but use my table saw with a sled for cutting my box miters.
  19. I have also used Trex. Facia boards are available at some Lowe's stores up to 11" wide. It is sure hard on blades but there is no need for finish. I also painted a piece black and used it for the backer.
  20. The video I did on inlays is a few years old and I'm doing it a bit different now. I really should update it but making videos really isn't my thing. Currently when I do an inlay I start with two pieces of wood about .4" thick, stack them and cut through. I'm using a #5 super sharp blade and set my saw about 1.6 degree angle. The angle depends on your blade size and brand, wood thickness and hardness. Sometimes my inlays end up a bit tight and then sometimes loose. After I glue the pieces in I run it through my drum sander to clean it up and end up with a finished piece that is about 3/8" thick. When I did this tree the wood I used was 3/4" I set my saw at about 2 degrees because I didn't want the tree to push up as far as 3/8". Hope that makes some sense to you. If not, send me a message and I am happy to share my phone number with you.
  21. Sorry for the slow response. It is a similar technique as doing an inlay only using the same piece of wood. If I used different species of wood I would want to use thinner wood and do it exactly like I would an inlay only using a different angle.
  22. Great patterns and cuttings. Love the wood.
  23. That is crazy special. Thanks for sharing the project and story. He's got some of your artistic genes for sure.
  24. That is unbelievable. Transmission works and all.
  25. What the world needs more of.
