  1. Great pattern and what a great idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it.
  2. Awesome job.
  3. Thanks so much for your generosity Jim.
  4. Thanks for your flattering word but my work is far from perfect.
  5. Awesome pattern and cutting. Is your museum full yet?
  6. Looks great Dick. I just finished up my first attempt of carving also. I didn't use any knives or chisels. I used a rotary tool with burrs. I guess that is called carving. The problem I had is was trying to sand out my cutting. I totally understand the feeling of the heat.
  7. I have a Pegas Band saw. Sure wish you could test drive one before you made the purchase. I do a lot of compound cutting of chess pieces. There is no way I can cut them with my band saw. It will not turn sharp enough. I love it for my intarsia projects. It will cut thick hard hard wood with ease. I do enough intarsia so it is well worth it even if that is all I use it for. On my scroll saw I have a tendency to push sideways a bit so my pieces end up a bit out of square. I have gotten very frustrated with Pegas because blades and bearings have been a real issue getting. I waited over six months to get #7 bearings. I bought mine from Denny and would highly recommend him if you decide to pull the trigger.
  8. That is totally awesome. I would have a problem gluing up that 1/4" since I am so shaky. Did you finish it after it was put together or before?
  9. Talked to him about a week ago on FB. Sounds like he is having some bad luck.
  10. Awesome pattern and cutting. Sure hope you are stack cutting it.
  11. You do nice work Ralph. Don't be afraid to try something new. The worst that can happen is it becomes firewood.
  12. You are a true artist. Did you paint the background?
  13. I did not cut where the flower fit in at an angle. There are 3 pieces of 1/4". The top piece I cut to fit the intarsia into, the second piece is solid and the third I scrolled the message into and glued them all together.
  14. The box is walnut and I used yellow heart, purple heart, poplar and canary for the flower pistils.
  15. A client commissioned me to make a jewerly box for his wife for their anniversary. He gave me a picture of some hibiscus he wanted inlayed into the top which I made a pattern for. He also wanted the message put under the lid. I got it done way ahead of schedule but this time of year I start getting super busy with shows.
  16. https://www.pswood.com/super-sharps-scroll-saw-blades/ When using pegas blades for inlays I don't feel like I can turn clockwise as sharp as counter clockwise. With super sharps I feel I can turn as sharp in both directions. It may be all in my head. The Super Sharps are expensive but for me they are worth it for what I am using them for.
  17. I have a Pegas and a Hegner. I use Pegas blades most of the time but use Super Sharps when doing inlays. I very seldom break a blade on my Pegas but do more often on my Hegner. Where were you Pegas blades breaking?
  18. Welcome from Texas. This site is where I got my start.
  19. Looks great! Walrus oil is a new one to me.
  20. Just curious why you use diluted shellac VS oil?
  21. This pattern was made by Sasho.
