  1. I never have a plan for the scraps. Sometimes I can use them for other inlays but a lot of the time they end up in the trash. It's a lot of waste for sure but I like them and they sell well.
  2. It's about 6" in diameter and 3 1/2" tall.
  3. I used Peruvian walnut for the inlay. The light wood is soft maple. The dowels are American walnut.
  4. I go a year without cleaning my gun. It might depend on the type of gun I use. I keep lacquer in it all the time and spray several times a week. I will clean the tip occasionally. If I let it set for a long time it might create a problem. I was using pre cat from SW. I started the first of the year buying pre cat from Klingspor and like it a lot.
  5. There is always more a person can do. I've never made any bowls.
  6. I had a sacrificial piece under it so there weren't many fuzzies on the top one.
  7. A wedding gift for some awesome clients and friends. It really is square. I have a hard time getting a good picture of a picture. Fame is walnut. Fret work is 1/8" baltic birch with a 1/4" walnut plywood backer.
  8. Great Job! I love how you did the frame. Did you use a saw or router?
  9. That came out awesome. I don't have the patients for something like that. I don't know how you do it but if I were doing it I would glue it to the backer with spay glue and do all of my finishing later
  10. Beautiful wood. Works great for red roses.
  11. I'm not having any problems with Adobe.

  13. I've been asked to make a wedding piece where the bride and groom will combine two hearts or heart pieces to form one. They don't want typical puzzle pieces, something more unique. Any ideas appreciated. I have attached an idea the bride sent me but I can't figure out how I could do it out of wood.
  14. I order a lot from them and have it shipped to my house. I'll buy a case of spray glue when I get low. It's a lot cheaper. I use mainly 120 grit orbital paper so I ordered a case. It will last me a long time but it's a lot cheaper and won't go bad. So much of the things they sell they will deliver to your home for free so why bother going into the store.
  15. I tried two different carbide blades, maybe not a Lennox. I bought a Laguna and it broke at the weld. Sucks on a $150 blade. I was trying to use 3/4" blades because I thought they would cut straighter. I don't think I could get enough tension on them with my small 14" Rikon. I found the wood slicer 1/2" and they are reasonable and last me a long time.
  16. I ordered a new Powermatic planer and drum sander from Home Depot on black Friday. I got free shipping along with my VA discount. I would strongly recommend a 1/2" wood slicer blade for resawing. I went through about four different brands before I found it. Jet tech support is top notch and they have the longest warranty.
  17. I use hot glue to hold the pieces together after cutting the first side.
  18. Official Obituary of Wayne Albert Mahler April 14, 1955 ~ December 26, 2024 (age 69)
  19. It's electric.
  20. I just bought a new signature branding Iron. Received it a couple weeks ago. My old one burned up. Time will tell how it lasts. It was sure cheap enough. Total cost was 107.98 https://www.etsy.com/listing/472608646/signature-branding-iron-custom-and?ref=yr_purchases
  21. Well earned Marg.
  22. That's a great idea. The only thing I don't like is that you have to start with thicker stock.
  23. I've been told it stays the same.
  24. I don't use a jig at all. I put hot glue on both sides to hold it together after I cut my first side. Works good for me.
