    Frank: I don't meant to answer for Barb, but I made some puzzles from some of my images. I just get a good quality print made commercially (drug store or other retailer) and the spray glue them to 1/4" plywood. Then I put a couple of coats of clear lacquer on both sides. Give it about an hour or so to cure and then free hand cut the pieces. The late Carter Johnson had some videos on YouTube about cutting puzzles and I learned a lot from him. Search Carterj636 or "postage stamp puzzle". Watching him cut a 10 piece puzzle from a postage stamp is great.

    They will fit on a 4" board. Tight, but if you pay attention, it will work. I am using 1/4" butternut for the 6 inner layers and walnut for the back plate and lid. As for ornaments, they would be super heavy unless you cut them from 1/16" plywood.

    Today (July 19) is Dr. Brian May's 71st birthday. All the rockers of my day are still out there hitting the stage and packing the house. Can't imagine how tired they must be at the end of a tour. Happy Birthday to one of the top guitar pickers of all time.

    I need to get to the range to make some big noise--but with the temps hovering around 100 here, it may wait until next week. The finger that operates the boom switch is getting a little rusty.

    I just gave my son's girlfriend a 8x13x8 box packed with craft supplies that were either leftovers or were stuff bought for "someday". I generally have some wood on hand in case something jumps out at me. I have already bought wood and got patterns glued for the 6 to 8 special Christmas gifts I do each year for siblings, etc. This year it is 6 of Steve Good's 6 layer Nativity. Scene will be 1/4" butternut and thr back and lid will be walnut. Start cutting Saturday morning.

    This is like talking politics and/or religion: lots of smoke and heat, but little light. @octoolguy if I was in the market for a new ROS, I would appreciate the hands on review. (But I just got a new one in 2018)

    I don't order a great deal from them, but everything I have received from them has been great wood as advertised. And their boards are the advertised width and length. No almost 4" or whatever. Great wood and good service.

    I normally would leave this alone, BUT: Trademarks and copyrights are registered with the government just as are patents. If you had developed/designed/built something and saw someone (or multiple people) ripping off your design or invention, you would be screaming for relief. That relief comes from a variety of agencies from local police to the U. S. attorney for your particular area--up to the DOJ for international theft of intellectual property. I know a guy in my area was busted selling counterfeit North Face(c) jackets. He had the material seized and paid good size fine. He was lucky there was no jail time.

    Not intending to be quick to judge, but 3/4 pine with a puzzle blade is asking for breakage and frustration.

    Spirals are sent straight from Satan's workshop and the only time I touch one is doing portrait style cuttings and curse myself the entire time.

    Great job on the wheels like Kevin said. Did you use a Forstner bit for the wheels?

    I would dip it about halfway (vertically) in some lemon oil--just to complete the theme. Or mask the right side completely and spray the left side.

    Made a few each of these for an upcoming road trip. I give them to folks along the way who give great service, or just look like they could use a little light in their day. Generally made from 3/8" scraps, I seat thequarter flush in a 15/16" forstner hole with my homemade "quarter pounder" and then I countersink and glue a 1/4" magnet to the back. Might be a good seller for some of you (iggy comes to mind).

    Great awards. Actually, the lettering is an asset to the overall look. As John said, we are our own worst critics. (And I would proudly put one of them on the wall.)

    A lot time, famous people will assign management of their image and name to a management company and they are the one pursuing the copyright infringements. Marilyn Monroe has been dead for than 50 years, yet the management company still licenses her images. Many others are the same way. You may be right that no one in going to make you get a tattoo removed--but they could. I had someone years ago ask me to make some Indianapolis Colts stuff and rather than possibly get involved, I politely refused--invoking copyright protection. I've had some of my photographs used without permission before, so I am a bit touchy about the subject. Not that I would not have given permission, but they were reprinted without attribution or compensation.
