  1. My first saw was a single speed Delta. No pics, but I still have the motor in case I want to build a buffer wheel.
  2. Everyone has a different "deep end" they are hesitant to dive into. For me it is now inlay after I got comfortable doing compound cuts. Stretch yourself and you will be amazed at what you can do. Lettering can be intimidating, but unless the oops is major, you will be the only one worried.
  3. Hey, it's still winter. We got 5.5 inches of fresh snow today.
  4. I passed on the castle book, but thanks to the lead, I found a Diana Thompson book.
  5. Great job by both involved. Love the idea of using the blade two ways.
  6. I had that pattern once and stumbled when I walked by with an open container of kerosene. Really beautiful ash pile later in the day.
  7. Good job on the piece, but my eyes immediately went to the clean veins in the leaves. That is sure to be treasured for years.
  8. Looks like an old etching that has aged to a great patina. Superb job!
  9. Don't just brag--break your elbow patting yourself on the back.
  10. Meant to comment on these earlier and hit the wrong button. These are some great ornaments and I am stealing the paper backing idea.
  11. Great cut Les. Love the wood choice.
  12. Another item I have gone through this year is this reindeer pattern. Some of them, i drilled the ears and put 12mm gold hoops as earrings. Don't have pictures of any with earrings.
  13. First: GREAT job on the American flag. Second: If you can get a Steelers fan to get in their OWN pocket--do it!
  14. Ray, I have found Mason jars in Goodwill and other such stores. That way you can buy them single.
  15. As an old fireman, I appreciate this one and second the idea of a bright red backer.
  16. Cut these six deep (1/8") to benefit a scholarship fund. Designer is Volker Arnold.
  17. I cut some birdhouses using FD5UR and the only problems I had were self inflicted by pushing too hard on some of the finer details. Cut those from 1.5" poplar. Sometimes it is getting a feeling for THAT piece of wood and how the stars are aligned above your saw.
  18. Beautiful wood and you treated it well. Sometimes I get lucky with poplar, but not that lucky.
  19. I see nothing wrong with that piece. Good cutting, good choice of wood, good pattern.
  20. I've had a gallon of milk cost me more than $50 after I walk to the back of the store to get said milk--and passed the cereal, bread, chips, lunch meat.
  21. Great treatment.
  22. To my scrollsaw family across the U. S., my Hope's for a great day. For the rest of world--happy Thursday.
  23. You need to be further south.
  24. Finally got around to shooting pics of some Christmas ornaments. Almost all of these go to family. The simple snowflake count was 37. (First picture) The birds on the birdhouses are not glued. I will let my sister pick the bird for house. She wanted some for her friends.
  25. Great idea and you did s good job on the cutting.
