  1. I had originally thought of using wooden pegs, but honestly, when I was at Lowe's the day I thought of doing the leash holders last summer, I couldn't find any and went with metal hooks. I finally got around to ordering some as a test... Whatcha think? An option for buyers... black hooks, antique brass hooks or wood pegs... Pegs are less expensive which is always nice.
  2. Here you go, I did a video showing it. Shrink wrap bags...
  3. In February I realized I was way behind on cutting in preparation for craft season and I said "I sure wish I had more time to cut in order to catch up and stockpile." Boom, that's when C19 started to show up. I'm sorry everyone, I didn't mean it... I have gotten caught up though. But I'll be lucky if I do many if any events this year. All of my big ones have been canceled through mid-August, so we'll see...
  4. Beautiful work, thanks for sharing... and for showing the rest of us up.
  5. Had a question about a new blade. I bought my DeWalt 788 4 years ago and the blade that came with it worked great for a while but it seems to be going dull because I'm really having to push or slow down to get it to cut. I've cut about 3,000 of these puzzles. Is it time for me to buy a new blade? If one lasted me 4 years, why would I buy an entire dozen? Do people go in together and buy a pack and split them up? Thanks.
  6. Nice cutting. How dare you intermix a non-Harvey pattern in there! LOL
  7. Hey everyoned, didn't see this thread. By all means modify Harvey's patterns if needed. I do it on a handful of his patterns either due to "weak spots" or to remove an unnecessary puzzle connector. He does beautiful work, but doesn't mean they're all perfect, right?
  8. He's in a situation where he has so many great ideas that would do well, he can't get to them all. LOL The states were a great idea and the one or two he did have done well, but finding time to do each one is tough for him.
  9. I just posted pictures of 4 of the new patterns that I cut this morning over in the Bragging Rights area.
  10. I cut 4 of Harvey's new animal pile patterns this morning. Beautiful artwork as usual. The horses were definitely the most detailed...
  11. Here was last years inventory... I'm behind this year.
  12. Well, my first crafts event of the year was supposed to be tomorrow, but I'll be surprised if I get to do any before Sept or October if at all this year, but at least I'm able to build my inventory... Plenty of cutting done lately... now need to get shrinkwrapping caught up. LOL
  13. Great idea, I'll suggest it to him. I'm a dinosaur nut so I'll push the idea hard.
  14. 3/4" is good so it can stand for display. Whatever type of wood you like works.
  15. One of my zombies just sent me this pic of the pile of bunnies...
  16. Correct. Harvey's patterns are not really meant for young children. Small pieces. I make it a point at events to let people know they aren't for kids.
  17. Well done sir! Thanks for sharing.
  18. Hi Everyone, Harvey Byler, the artist of the animal puzzles that I make and sell patterns for is working on a new item. I'm calling them Animal Piles. Other artists have done some as some of you may be aware. Harvey has done 6 so far and they're available now on my site. Attached is a freebie to try out and if you like it, all I ask is that you check out the others. I just received them, so I haven't cut any yet. If you cut one, please share photos! Pile-Bears.pdf
  19. My company (day job) put a freeze on all travel for all 3,000 employees about 2 weeks ago. No visiting clients, no conferences, etc. Now a push for everyone to work from home (which many already do including myself). It's going to be a weird couple of months coming up.
  20. Well, I knew it would happen and it has begun... scheduled craft events are cancelling... My big 2 day event over Easter just cancelled and I'm waiting for my big 1 day event April 25th to announce... On the bright side I'm way behind on cutting, so at least now it isn't so bad. I do this as a hobby business so I don't depend on these events to eat or pay my mortgage but I have a number of vendor friends who do and I feel really bad for what they're about to have to endure the next couple of months. And darnit I was all ready...
  21. Here I am late to the conversation again... if not already mentioned, don't rely on the gauge on your table or using a square... Play with the tilt of your table a little each way and making test puzzle cuts on scrap until you find the "sweet spot"...
  22. Here is where I got my ENGRAVER the customer service is excellent. Nancy literally called me when I informed her I had received it and she walked me through how to do things after I had assembled it and downloaded the software. I got the 3500 model. https://nmclasers.com/shop?olsPage=t%2Flaser-engraver
  23. Thanks Mike and it's just a "hobby business" for me as I have a day job. I cut maybe 2 hours a day during the week and if I can I'll cut 5 or 6 hours a day on a Saturday or Sunday. There is no overkill when doing fretwork... you guys are the ones that amaze me with your patience to do those types of pieces.
  24. I've been meaning to do a video for a while and finally did it. Seeing a lot of questions, especially within Facebook group page from new scrollers asking how others mount their patterns to the wood so I wanted to make this to share. You old time veteran scrollers can just skip it.
  25. Lazy Daze isn't until August, but Spring Daze is April 25th, so I'm hoping this bug runs its course by then.
