  1. I only use chip, but I'd guess the signature required setting covers any type of transaction. I have one venue where I do 3 shows a year with very poor cell service and end up having to do everything "offline" and as I'm driving home afterward, all the transactions flow through. So far, never an issue.
  2. LOL! It really could become interesting. My company announced a total moratorium on travel for our 3,000 staff... no visits to clients, no conferences, etc. I won't be surprised if craft events get cancelled if new cases continue to be found. FYI - I know you were just joking about that stuff, but you are aware that with Square (maybe PayPal too?) signatures are no longer required for credit card purchases. Be sure to turn it off if you haven't already. So happy when they did that.
  3. It may be a bit interesting this year, but I'm ready. Wanna buy a puzzle? I made sure the biohazard suit matches my banners. It's the details that matter.
  4. You definitely don't want to risk it here in the US. Harvey called me Friday and was asking about it as he got a nasty letter from a trademarked entity to stop selling specific items. And I personally witnessed a "raid" at a crafts event I was doing last July. They came and took all of his stuff... never heard what the fines ended up costing him.
  5. Hey Gordon, I got the NEJE 3500 laser. Great entry level machine for only $167. I did a short video showing it the day I got it set up if you're interested. Come on over to the states and visit my cute little beach town.
  6. And by the way... here is the 2020 version of our local advertising map... my other business... Sending to the printer Monday for 50,000 copies to be produced. My wife does all of the graphics, layout and design. I am the sales and distribution grunt worker.
  7. LOL, nobody would want to be in my brain for even an hour. Fortunately no headaches... but when I wake up in the morning, I absolutely can not go back to sleep as once my mind cranks up, it can't be paused. LOL
  8. Nicely done sir. My puzzle zombie army expands every day!!!!
  9. It's been a busy couple of weeks with business travel, wrapping up the 2020 version of the local advertising map of our island and I finally got a chance to play in the shop today. I made these items this morning as samples, imagining the Unicorn and T-Rex for kids rooms. The North Carolina item is something I made a couple of times before but thought it might look good as a key rack... Having fun with the laser burner. So far still only playing with text/wording to enhance and offer customization on my existing pieces.
  10. I was just goofing around with you. Most of those you showed are by another artist Jim Sweet aka Woodimals.
  11. Well, the problem is that the lettering in the dogs isn't a "font"... hand drawn by Harvey Byler. I understand what you're thinking though and I'll take a look to see if there's a font that is "softer" and would blend in with the general style in the body.
  12. I see non-Harvey patterns in the mix! How dare you!?!? LOL
  13. Thanks for letting us know Matt. I emailed Steve last week when I heard he was going to be doing a review and shared my video with him and he responded saying he liked his so far and would be doing the review video soon.
  14. Hey Jim, I'm still trying to figure out how to use this newfangled thing. LOL Getting the right intensity and laser beam time in milliseconds will come thru trial and error. Someone suggested to me to put masking tape to help with any shadowing. I haven't tried it. Still playing with intensity levels.
  15. Here is their website, scroll to the bottom for contact information they are in Anaheim. https://nmclasers.com/
  16. Nope, I got ya. I had no intention of doing it at events. I'm a one person operation and can't sell and burn. Besides, there is no way to have the sufficient inventory on hand of all dog breeds with bases. The new option of burned in names is cheaper for customers than the current option of having the names cut into the bodies. Simply adding an option... $25, $35 or $45, they choose how much they want to spend. Always appreciate thoughts and feedback, that's why I post ideas out here and state as such.
  17. Hey Melanie, The one I have is the model 3500, then it goes to the 7W and the 20W... so I think mine is literally half the strength of the 7W. I'm running it at only 25% intensity and it burns nicely into poplar, so should not be any trouble at all with harder woods if you turn it up a little. If not, go with the 7W which isn't a whole lot more money.
  18. Hey JT, I will have no problem at all describing the fact that my products are still 100% handmade with the option to have a custom name burned in, no different than using a branding iron. Not a single customer will have an issue with that. Extra $10 for a couple minutes of extra work and the fact that I charge customers for shipping of custom orders already means I'll still pocket plenty of extra cash to make it worth my while.
  19. LOL, haven't ordered the banner yet. Will have to decide whether to modify or stick with the fact that it's still "made" without lasers, simply customized with a name. No different than using a branding iron.
  20. Alright, here we go... Options for customers... Picture 1 - Standard Labrador Puzzle - $25 (as usual) Picture 2 - Puzzle with name in base - $35 (new offering) Picture 3 - Puzzle with name in body - $45 (as usual) Picture 4 - For the leash holders... I currently sell for $35 and will offer with a name lasered in for $45. What are your thoughts?
  21. Here's a test piece I did after the video, size 200 font for a dog name.
  22. My new toy... Lots of possible uses, starting with putting my website on pieces. I'll be cutting a couple of items tomorrow to test putting dog names on them...
  23. Nice cutting. Well done.
  24. I'm so proud... like a proud parent. Nice cutting sir.
  25. If you haven't already seen this video, the first 4 minutes shows what I do. The hard roller is what really makes sure everything is stuck to the board and to the laminate.
