  1. Those look great!
  2. Very well done.
  3. I just received the two books Making Wooden Gear Clocks and Gizmos and Gadgets. I've only just flipped through them. I saw where metal machines were used. I dismantled my machine shop about four years ago unfortunately. I see a rotary table and dividing head used. That would certainly simplify things as would be a CNC router. Oh well.
  4. Beautiful cutting. I found a couple of bamboo serving boards on sale at Wally-World but have not cut them. Your projects certainly look great!
  5. Congratulations! The money pit begins.
  6. The Denver Woodcraft store has it also.
  7. I did Ray. I sold my 16 inch Hawk to my friend who has the 11. His latest purchase was two old Deltas. Q2 or 3? Not sure. He scrolls full time but I can't get him to join the Village. He is a loner.
  8. I have a lamp very similar to Ray's lamp. Mine is LED with a 5X magnifier. I cannot use the magnifier as it is too strong. Trying to focus with that strong a diopter bothers my eyes. I use magnifiers with about 1.5X strength. Others here may like the 5X. I also use reading glasses with 1.75X magnification. I don't like my nose too close to the saw. I do love the LED lighting. Also I do not attach the lamp to the saw as I do not enjoy the light vibrating. My saw is very smooth but there are harmonics that cause the lamp to vibrate slightly. Other opinions may vary.
  9. Nosy is OK. I have a friend with 11 scroll saws. He is hoping to start a teaching program. I have one saw because that is all I have room for.
  10. I did not think you could do it. Boy am I wrong! Good work.
  11. Masterful job!
  12. Great pattern. You did a beautiful job!
  13. I just ordered the gizmo book and the wooden clock book from amazon. One book was $12.47, the other $11.00 including shipping with Prime. Small investment to check it out. I don't know if I have the patience or if I will live long enough to finish a clock. Should make interesting reading for sure.
  14. Looks great as always!
  15. You did a beautiful job. Nice pattern, excellent cutting.
  16. Not being too ambitious today I decided to check the runout on my small drill press. I have an old but excellent American made chuck. The accuracy is quite exceptional. I measured a 3/8" length of drill rod. Drill rod is not necessarily perfectly round but very close. A 3/8" dowel pin is more accurate. The runout on the drill rod is .0015".
  17. 18 degrees this morning but still 55 in my little shop. So did I go out there and scroll? Nope, I stayed in my warm basement and just fiddled around. Just got over a little flu like bug but am OK now. This 4" of snow we have will be gone in a couple of days. It's pretty while it lasts but won't last long.
  18. An impressive array of great looking work!
  19. Here is a big welcome from snowy Colorado. 18 degrees this AM. I've looked at your projects. You appear quite accomplished in your work. Very nice work.
  20. That is the same problem with Delta Midi-Lathes. No parts.
  21. You have been busy! Some very nice work.
  22. Beautiful work. I particularly like the cutting of the leaf. Great work.
  23. What a great display of your work! The locomotive is spectacular.
  24. Very nice!
  25. Is that a '32? Great job!
