  1. Hawk definitely has an aluminum table.
  2. I had thought about going but it's like a 5 hour drive from Lexington. If I actually retire in 2020 maybe I'll make the 2021 show. There just does not seem to be enough time right now to take a weekend out like that.
  3. That is just gorgeous!
  4. Outstanding
  5. Very creative too!
  6. My wife has these issues. Hope it all works out well for you.
  7. Stevan (pronounced Steven) but I generally answer to Steve.
  8. Hey Ray, here is an idea for retractable casters for your stand. I did this on my Hawk.
  9. Great work and great words of wisdom for the young'uns.
  10. That's really nice. And I have seen both versions of the movie!
  11. The creativity on this site continues to amaze me. And your work is amazing too.
  12. Hey, we're with you man!
  13. May the rest of 2018 be much better to you. Get well soon.
  14. Found this on Craiglist for my area. 2016 Hawk BM20 He is asking $600 for a 2016 Hawk BM20 but since it's Craigslist, you could probably negotiate some on the price. Maybe start with a low ball offer and see what happens. I have pretty much talked myself out of buying it and then trying to sell my existing Hawk. Really and truly, my skills and available time simply do not merit spending another $5-600 on another saw. So good luck if you try for it.
  15. I can relate but my issues are in my neck and I have thought about getting an adjustable chair/stool. If you go this route, how do you use/control your saw foot pedal? (I'm like all of 5'5" and my feet are not going to reach the floor if I'm sitting on an elevated chair).
  16. If you buy used, be very sure of the blade attachment/changing process. Quick and easy blade changing is worth some extra money in my opinion.
  17. This looks like it will be very nice. Please be sure to post some during as well as after pictures.
  18. I don't own a Dewalt but I do own an older Hawk and your findings support what I also discovered. I found that when I went to push against the back of the blade to rotate the work, the work wanted to move back and forth more than I was expecting.
  19. That's how I got mine. Low-balled an offer to someone who bought it new 25 or so years ago and then never used it. And this may be sacrilegious but I use JET lower blade holders instead of Hawk brand. About $20 for 3 on Amazon. They work fine and there is no evidence that I am wearing the aluminum arm with the steel blade holder. And I built my own blade holder (as seen at Steve Goodes site http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/search?q=jet) instead of buying one from Steve.
  20. You really do some amazing work!
  21. I think the major is expense is the vacuum. I started with my old shop vac but then found an old Dyson vacuum on the curb for garbage pick up (so I picked it up and repurposed it).
  22. Must be hereditary. Really nice work!
  23. Looking good buddy (as always!).
  24. I foresee major tool expansion in your future. Good Luck!!!
