  1. It’s been a dry week but the same band that’s hitting them will make it to us in the AM.
  2. Beautiful job! I’ve never been in an Irish pub but it looks like it would be right at home in one.
  3. Paul got it right. Just a little joke about Willie and marijuana.
  4. It’s probably my favorite font to cut. Scroll Calligraphy. Unfortunately my OCD tendencies got the best of me and I couldn’t get used to the change in the clock after all these years of looking at it. I moved the quote to the wall next to my bedroom door so I’ll see it every morning.
  5. Cool name. Now I wish we did. Much cooler than truck. You said you didn’t understand it. If you mean don’t understand what it is, some people here put something decorative in their receiver hitch, which is where you would put your trailer hitch if you had one. It serves no purpose.
  6. I “decided” to add some Tolkien to my favorite clock today. “I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” - J.R.R. Tolkien
  7. Thank you, Marg. I’m thinking of adding some flowers to the white border sides, and You belong among-The wild flowers, to the top and bottom.
  8. Thank you. I love my Tacoma. I had another one and traded up to get the blind spot monitors and lane keep assist which I love on the interstate. Now I’m happy and hope to drive it till it dies.
  9. Only drawback is, in Alabama, its legally probable cause to search my truck.
  10. Fill it up with Hershey's Kisses and it will be perfect! I've got lot's of stuff for the Not Bragging Rights category!
  11. Click on lines and look for different adjustments.
  12. I had more fun playing with the program than the cutting. I stack cut three and only the top one was usable. I used some 1/4” oak plywood that I had on hand which was not a good choice. The grain ruined the shadow effects of the cut lines so I had to put several coats of paint to hide the grain. It was a learning opportunity, just not sure I want to do it again to use what I learned.
  13. Thanks. Not something I want to do again. Very tedious work with a so-so outcome. But I think she'll like it hanging in her room. Her 8th birthday is in a couple of weeks.
  14. https://spiralbetty.com/
  15. Add me to the ones who want to do that some day. Beautiful job!
  16. Very unique and well done!
  17. I’ve never done one of these as all I’d seen was a few celebrities and it didn’t seem worth the effort. I found a site called Spiral Betty where you can make your own patterns with lots of adjustments you can make like, orientation of lines, number of lines, contrast, etc. It didn’t turn out exactly as I’d envisioned but I’m thinking my granddaughter will like it.
  18. Very nice. I don’t think I’ve seen the light houses before.
  19. Those are very cool!
  20. Absolutely beautiful!!!
  21. Thanks. I sand it down to 400 grit and use a mixture of boiled linseed oil, mineral spirits, and poly. It still feels like natural wood which works since they’re made to hold. I think it’s basically homemade Danish oil. I got this maple at Woodcraft and picked a piece with lots of darker areas.
  22. Nothing new but I really like how this Ambrosia Maple looks on this bird. These have been a big hit among family and friends. .
  23. Bought a sweet little walnut box with brass inlay for 4 bucks at a local thrift store today. Cleaned up nice and all my rich stuff fits in it.
  24. Beautiful work Barb!
  25. Thanks Marg. Each one comes out a little different due to the shaping, which I like. I think I've made 10 so far and haven't got to keep one for myself yet. I've done a few with maple or mahogany on top and oak underneath which gives them a nice look, like a bird with a lighter colored breast. I sand them down to 400 grit and finish with oil. They really are therapeutic to hold and rub with your fingers and thumb. My grandson who has ADD and loves to fidget loves his.
