  1. Glad you liked it, I got the pattern from @Iguanadon website https://woodcraftbyscott.com/
  2. Thanks to both @Iguanadon and @kmmcrafts for their help as I made my first clock. The insert is too small for the hole I don't have the sizing down yet for the insert, but I did find a workaround - I put a screen tension spring in the hole and it worked like a charm Anyway, here it is: Thanks as always in advance for reading
  3. The downdraft works more on gravity not so much on suction. This is the one I built: https://fixthisbuildthat.com/diy-downdraft-sanding-table-box/ if you look toward the middle, you'll the "dust chute" which is the key to the table. There is just enough suction to pull down the small particles of dust which fall onto the chute and into the dust control
  4. 20x20 is a decent size Mine is 22x24 simply because that was the size of the pieces of peg board I had at the time It fits perfectly in a slot in one of my workbenches
  5. Nicely done. We voted Monday morning - no lines, we were first at that location
  6. I use and I made 2. They are both small and I place them on a workbench when I flat sand I made mine out of peg board and drilled out some of the middle holes to make them a little larger I use a 2" pvc pipe to connect to my shop vac. When I want to use it, I hook up the shop vac with a clamp, and sand away. I can use my orbital, hand sander, or home made sanding pads It works quite well.
  7. Nicely done - thanks for sharing that and the laser info Suggestion... Blur the names and leave the pics
  8. Actually we finally figured it out... We purchased very long boards for the first time (and last). I always eye check the boards when I buy them, and it looked fine. After having placed several I cut the board in half and went to work on the puzzles. After posting this problem and reading the responses, I re-examined the remaining board and Cracker Jacks - the cursed board is bowed! Explains the chatter and why it was so hard to cut. We went out and purchased new boards and I'll use the remaining board for drawer fronts. Thanks all for jumping in and offering your insights
  9. HD has the saw back in stock @299 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Delta-1-3-Amp-20-in-Scroll-Saw-Variable-Speed-40-694/205112184?cm_mmc=Other|EmailAlerts|TrackIF|121214|Pilot|BackInStockv2
  10. Amazon has the saw on sale as well - not as cheap though: $332. Still not a bad price. I was seriously considering the Dewalt but the $500 price tag was just a bit over the top for me
  11. I've had very few issues with any of my Delta equipment. Only issue so far has been the loose motor which I was able to actually repair myself LOL My table saw is the best piece of equipment I've ever purchased - Delta
  12. Thanks @Gonzo In Florida, we're fully opened for business, so it was a very crowded day. It didn't hurt that it was also a beautiful day as well LOL
  13. I just bought an extra Delta, just in case
  14. At HD the lowest price I've ever seen on the Delta Scroll Saw - $299! https://www.homedepot.com/p/Delta-1-3-Amp-20-in-Scroll-Saw-Variable-Speed-40-694/205112184 I may have to buy another at that price!
  15. That's an interesting question, I sit when I scroll and the height of my cart and the chair I use is perfect for me. However, sometimes I do have to stand because the piece extends too far off the front of my table. When that happens I notice (now) the cart is too low and I am leaning over too much. I would have to raise the saw another 6"-8" to stand all the time to scroll. I'm way too old for that LOL I would venture a guess, as others have said, it depends on what is comfortable for you. I imagine if you are very tall, that could pose a problem getting something high enough to be comfortable for you. Whatever you end up with, would love to see pics of the final set up
  16. Very cool Thx for sharing it
  17. That's cool - love the tree in the back, nice touch! Thanks for sharing it
  18. Grats on your new toy. As you well know, if there are no pics, it didn't happen so... SHOW US THE SAW LOL
  19. Glad (well you know what I mean) I'm not the only one! And I used to love that show when I was a kid. That and Wanted Dead or Alive - Steve McQueen!
  20. You've come to the right place, welcome. Incredibly great, helpful, friendly people here!
  21. Because of the Hurricane, wood here very hard to find. Lowes had some Poplar and pine, but all that is left is bunch of junk - twisted, knotted, warped etc. Do you have a link for cherokee?
  22. We just got back from our first event as a vendor! First, I'd really like to thank everyone here for their help and guidance. If it were not for the great people on this forum, I doubt our event would have gone as it did.., It was really an interesting day and I was extremely surprised how well we were received. We sold 20 units total! The big sellers were kids puzzle @ 2 for $25 The 2nd biggest sellers were my fantasy and sea creature puzzles: Mermaids, Pegasus, Turtles and Manatees Interestingly enough I only sold 1 dog puzzle - Boston Terrier LOL We also got our first pre-orders for 5 more kids puzzles for next week and a bunch of dungeons and dragons puzzles. I have to find a bunch of DnD oriented puzzles, so if anyone knows where I can get a few quick DnD puzzles, let me know. I have the few books that are available I think Thanks as always in advance for reading
  23. I have my saw mounted at a slight angle on a home made cart. It has drawers and shelves so I get extra storage with it as well. It's also on wheels - actually my entire shop is on wheels since I have a small shop. Makes it very easy to move things around to work.
  24. Nicely done. I don't see a problem with the Unicorn. Pieces all look well cut, nibs look fine etc. Thanks for sharing it
  25. That's a very cool project. When I drill I use a backer, stops the backside blow out. I just have to keep moving so as not to drill in the same hole. I just started using foam insulation as the base - works better than using wood for a backer
