  1. I have a Delta contractor, If I were to get another which I consider once in awhile, I would probably get a Rigid - the one that allows dado's. The price is right and it's nice and small and I can make one of those roll around tables for it The others are all great saws and my Delta is the best tool I've ever purchased, but for me and the price, the Rigid would do it,
  2. One of my woodworking courses had a similar project to build. But because I have a contractors saw it was useless for me to make. However, lots of others in the class made it and it is quite handy, specially for small shops!
  3. Nicely done - show off LOL I like what you did to the uncropped ear! Wish I thought of that before I made mine for a customer Your stuff is very inspiring! Thanks for sharing it
  4. I have a wen drill press with a 'X' cross hair pointer Basically, it sucks and I don't use it. It is off by 1/16" and I have no desire to try and align it!
  5. My neighbor just ordered 8 units of various types from me - puzzles, wall hangers etc. So, in gratitude I made them a wall hanger for themselves. Nothing special, but here it is... Thanks as always in advance
  6. I have the Dewalt 734. I actually just used it for the 2nd time a few days ago. I doubt I will ever use it again LOL! The amount sheers it spit out was incredible, and the noise even with my shooting ears on was deafening! I'll let the guys at the lumber yard plane the boards for me. They do it for free anyway. Not worth losing my hearing even more.
  7. UPDATE: So we did our Small Business Saturday event. It rained most of the morning from 7am through approx. 9:30 am I opted for tarps on the underside of the tent - Worked like a charm. Unfortunately I forgot to take pics. I had to use 2 tarps, but I'll be getting a single 12x12 asap for the next rainy session We used hand clamps on the under rails to keep the tarps up and raised the tent a few extra notches. We put up our side and rear panels as well. We pulled our tables back about a foot and a half so the customers and our products were out of the rain. So, during the rainy time it was very busy but we did do 3 sales. About 10:30 the crowd really picked up. It was still cloudy, but no rain. We took down the side panels but left the rear panel up and that really helped to dampen the wind going through the tent Right around 11 am the sun came out for a few hours and we had run after run after run It was our highest unit sales day so far! Mostly we sold kids stuff but did manage a few custom orders as a few in stock items Thanks all for the input - it was helpful
  8. We're pretty much used to the rain here in Florida. People actually just wait for it to pass then get on with whatever they were doing. For example: It rained a few weeks back during one of our Saturday events. We hurried to put up side panels and moved our tables back far enough to get a row of people under the tent. That's how I found it the canvas drips LOL During the storm people kept buying, and still went from booth to booth. As to @Dan - that is one of my concerns. However, we batten down our tents to the side rails of the docks and we do have extra weights if needed. It's a dilemma for us because if we just pack up and go home, we will lose our last weekend for custom orders. Not to mention what we will miss after the rain passes. This is perhaps the busiest weekend prior to Christmas at the event. It's Small Business weekend and there are extended hours for the vendors as well. It's a really big todo here this weekend
  9. I like them both - they do have very different visuals though and I would say it would depend on where one would place them as to which is preferable.
  10. Obviously you don't live in Florida where "fair" means it might, or it might not rain I've been reading reviews about those sprays and not a one got more than 50% good reviews. Most were Avg reviews and just under half were "doesn't work" reviews.
  11. Was wondering what others do when they have rain for their vendor booths. Tomorrow is another fair day, and it's supposed to rain and the fair is rain or shine! My tent is canvas and drips during the rain I've been reading about waterproofing a canopy tent, but so far it seems ti's a 50/50 work solution My thoughts are: Throw a tarp over the top of the outside of the tent - secure the tarp with clamps on the legs and on the canvas Secure with clamps plastic sheeting on the inside of the tent Do nothing and pack up and go home Thanks as always in advance for your ideas and comments
  12. Happy Turkey day to all and a safe, happy, healthy rest of the year!
  13. Wow, that's incredible!
  14. I've only changed the filter once in 6 months - wasn't aware I could blow it out. But now that I think about it, it's what I do with my shop vac filter as well You just saved me $20 every 6 months LOL
  15. Yah, thanks - I did the 20% off thing didn't receive a confirmation though, so we'll see if it goes
  16. My piping is a disaster! I keep meaning to redo it, but I just don't get the time anymore. IMO - run the 6" out the port as far as you can. I run a sewer piper out of my HF 2hp unit along the ceiling. When it reaches the first drop, I drop to 2" with a gate. I need to run another hose line soon as I added a few tool carts since my first run. I'll probably swap out the sewer duct for PVC pipe and go that route for the whole run Can't wait to see what you do!
  17. This place is incredible! Welcome to the friendliest wood place on the internet LOL
  18. I feel ya - this is why I don't route LOL
  19. I'd kill for a shop that size LOL The Wen 3410 is the first machine I turn on everyday, after the lights of course. It's very quiet and can barely tell it's running. Does it work? Well, I've only changed the filter once since I bought it in February. It was definitely a different color LOL. But in all honesty I don't really know how well it's working since I don't have anything to compare it to. But since the filter wasn't white when I changed it, I'd say yeah it works well.
  20. Yes that's it - I bought it so long ago forgot the HP sorry. Loudness is a relevant perspective - after 40 years of rock and roll, my ears are probably a bit more worn than most. However, when it is on (when ever I use any saw) I do have to turn the radio up so for me it's not terribly loud. I have a Wen 3410 3 speed, and if you have one of those the HF is 3 times louder. I have mine stuck in a corner which I think baffles it slightly
  21. If it were me, and I'm so jealous it's not LOL, in order of importance to me (I have most of the tools I need) If you don't have a shop wide dust control system that would be #1 - I have the HF 3 hp and it's incredible! Run ducting through out to every machine Portable A/C system Ceiling Track system - Rockler - isolates the dust makers Drum Sander Rigid Oscillating Spindle sander Router Lift table Band saw Good drill press (i have 2 cheapies) The wife and I on the vacation of a lifetime! Best of luck with your decision.
  22. Yeah, it's J.D. - the hair on the side gives it away IMO
  23. Sweet!
  24. Thanks, not on that site. Looking for someone here so I can pay it back somehow
  25. The only thing I see is it's not a chevy LOL Looks great to me
