While sales may be sluggish through out the year, the bright side is leveling out the contagions and avoiding a worse situation I've been spending a lot of time in my shop. Making little odds and ends out of all the left over and junk pieces I've had since I started. If nothing else, it is giving me lots of practice and lots of inventory to sell later on if it gets to that point. We just had our first confirmed case of Covid-19 here, so we're battening down the hatches for another week. More projects, more fun. Chins up everyone, it can't last forever!

I've been experimenting with food coloring and colored dyes lately for puzzle pieces. However, I notice before applying Shellac the color comes off onto my fingers. I've been working with food dyes on puzzles lately with Shellac, and water down paints as well for some colors. For backing, it depends.... Some I stain, some I do nothing but poly and some I use paper or cloth.

Nah, no worries Len! I appreciate your pointing out the inaccuracy and the comment. Not being of that faith I wouldn't have known if you hadn't pointed it out. Interesting thought. The wife actually put these together and she is of that faith and should have known LOL. Now we have something else we can disagree on for the next few days LMAO!

Thanks - it's my understanding (I'm not a religious scholar) that while "Jesus may have been crucified between two thieves." there were additional crucifixes lined up in the vicinity as it was a common Roman punishment: For me it's a matter of Artistic License as opposed to historic or religious accuracy

Yes, while I can make frames to size, I prefer to make frames a generic size and cut the backing to fit. Much easier that way for me, but not a game changer either. I have done a few with stain shades - looks ok for the most part, guess I've just not found a combination that really blows my skirt up yet

Made these 2 from odds and ends I've cut over the past several years. Now that the shop is getting re-organized, I found the pieces laying in a bin on a shelf. The frames are home made, the stain is red mahogany, the backing is 1/8" bb stained with combo of red sedona and gun stock Bless this house: The Light on the Mount Thanks in advance as always for reading

I cut and sanded quite a few projects this weekend, but since a few of them were duplicates of what I've already posted I didn't take any pics and opted not to post the others. I guess it seems monotonous and intrusive to me to always post everything I cut. I really enjoy the projects others cut since they're all so darn good and give me ideas for other things, but mine... not too much bragging going on there - mediocre at best. Anyway, I made a bunch of puzzles this weekend, a new mermaid (difficult cut), new griffon (difficult cut), new Pegasus (difficult cut), 2 new framed wall scenes and a few duplicates for stock. We also started to create spreadsheets for inventory management, certificates, labels, numbering system, got our business stamp and a bunch of boxes for inventory separation This week, we'll be finishing (staining/painting) those projects and I'll be building something for the shop from the course as well as a few more drawers for carts I have a cabinet I want to make, but not ready to brave HD for 3/4" ply LOL Ok, thanks as always in advance for reading.
