  1. That's what I have been doing Scott, turning the drill press on and pinching holes. I do use a backer board but I think I need to change it more often as it gets a lot of holes in it then I am defeating my purpose using it. I might also look intoi sme of the bits Ray found and see if that helps. grizz
  2. Thanks for the advice Ray I will try slowing down and I am sure it will help. It is just a hobby. grizz Oregon
  3. Thank You for all the suggestions, I will give them a try. I am sure it will help. I think I am drilling so many holes I get in a hurry and force the bit through I think. grizz Oregon
  4. looking for any ideas on drilling the small holes in my stack cut I/8in Baltic birch ornaments. Not the blade entry holes but the small holes that would be left in the finished product. Sometimes the holes are small and several of them so its easier to drill them than cut them but I always seem to get a blowout on the bottom piece. Doesn't look good. Maybe its the drill bit or I am going through to fast. Any of your input would be appreciated. been doing it that way for a long time but finally decided to ask advice. grizz Oregon
  5. New saws have there unexpected problems as well. I worked on my New Seyco when I got it for several days going back and forth with Ray at Seyco. Finally got it ironed out and am very happy. Would have much rather spent those days making sawdust but it all worked out. I hope you get your issues fixed quickly and back to scrolling. Ray should be able to help you get it going in no time. My EX21 was knocking and it was the motor cam. I had to replace the motor cam and all the linkage. I believe this is a rare occurrence though. You can take the plate off the left rear side with the three screws in it and make sure nothing is hitting and that the motor cam is tight. Good Luck grizz Oregon
  6. I bought the Pegas MFG in Size #1, #3 and #5 they are sharp and fast cutting. Maybe I need to spend more time with them. I watched you in a video the other day cutting ornaments and you were having no trouble at all. Maybe I am going to fast and get outside the line since I am used to pushing the FD blades. I will work with them Thanks for the feedback. grizz Oregon
  7. I have been using the FD Penguin Silver reverse #1 for about three years. They work great for me. They don't last as long as some others but it is worth it to get a clean cut and be able to cut such small areas easily. I just received two gross from WTB and they are just not as sharp as the other lots I have received. They seemed dull right out of the package. Called them today and they said to try some for a couple more dozen. If they were the same and I wasn't pleased they would replace the whole two gross for me. Sounds fair to me. I use a few Pegas as well but for some reason I can't keep them on the line like I can FD. Must be old age. grizz Oregon.
  8. I agree with Jim D&D has the worst webpage. Just got my order and instead of #3 and # 5 I got #1 and #3 guess its my fault for not double checking my order. It is confusing though. Get all my FD from The Wooden Teddy Bear. Extremely fast shipping but they do charge shipping. Don't use Olsen any more. grizz Oregon
  9. Happy Thanksgiving to all. I hope everyone has a wonderful day with friends and family.
  10. Forgot to add that I put the Pegas chuck heads on my Seyco St 21 grizz Oregon
  11. Well I ordered my new Pegas Chuck heads a while back. finally got around to installing them last week. Took about twenty minutes or so to pit them on and square the blade up again. I have about eight hours on them now and am really impressed. The Pegas heads are more compact and the cam lock much smaller, seemed kind of strange for the first few cuts but now I love them. They really did take a lot of vibration out of the saw. I really notice it when cutting fine fretwork. With the old ones the blade was vibrating and was hard to tell exactly where you were starting your cut. The Pegas heads totally eliminated that. Even though they are aluminum they seem to be a much better quality material. Very smooth cam lock, easier to see when changing blades for me. We will have to see what the longevity of them is. If they last as long as the original or longer I would definitely buy the Pegas. The originals are $ 69.74 a set plus shipping and Pegas was $ 90.00 including shipping, not that much difference, especially when considering how much nicer they are. Well my EX clamps are about worn out so I will put the old ST clamps on it as they were still working pretty good. when they wear out then the EX will get a set of Pegas. grizz Oregon
  12. I have a dumb question. How do you put pictures of your shows and work on here from your cell phone? I am pretty dumb when it comes to the computer. Actually pretty dumb at other things too. Lol

  17. I have been using the shelf liner on BB and Poplar for about six months. I just smooth it down with the palm of my hand and have had no issues so far. At least something is going right. grizz Oregon
  18. Advertising makes all the difference. The ones I have been to that do not advertise have always been poor customer attendance. A lot of work and some expense to set up and not sell much of anything. Hope you much better on the future craft shows. grizz Oregon
  19. Very nice work. Nice display. Glad you had a successful show grizz Oregon
  20. looks good I need to try that. Seems I am always to busy using my saw to work on it. Lol grizz oregon
  21. Glad you sold some things. It's a lot of work to set up and then no one buys anything. Good luck on your next event hope you make up for the other two events and sell everything grizz Oregon
  22. Thank You. I will post pictures of my next one. I got so busy I forgot to take picture until there was a line of people. If I can figure out how to get the pictures on here. LOL. My work doesn't look near as good as some I see on here but then I am not a finish person. grizz Oregon
  23. Well I attended my first craft event for the year. I was surprised it went way above my expectations. Sold several puzzles and a ton of Ornaments. I felt so good I came home and ordered the Pegas blade chucks for my Seyco St 21. Now I can see what all the hype is about. Should have them in a week or so and will let you know. I have four more events lined up hope they go as well. Now back to the woodshop to replenish my stock for the next events. grizz Oregon
  24. I actually use three box fans with a fairly fine filter and they work well but I would like to get a regular air cleaner I believe it would be more efficient grizz Oregon
  25. I did try them in the # 3 and # 5. They were ok but I prefer the Flying Dutchman and the Pegus MD much better. Flying Dutchman being my favorite. You might give the Shark tooth a try you might like them. It's been a while so I can't exactly remember why I didn't care for them but I know they didn't cut as well for me. grizz Oregon
