  1. I agree Paul the customer service is hit and miss. I usually talk to the owner and one or two other workers that acknowledge me the rest of them I don't even talk too. That seems to be the problem with a whole lot of stores now days no customer service. I will let you know next time I get them to order some for me. It will be a little while. grizz
  2. I get my 1/8 in BB the same place Scrappile does. Sometimes it is really good and sometimes not so much. Awhile back I checked them and it was terrible. I wanted 15 sheets so they ordered in 30 sheets and let me get first pick of what I wanted. Still got a couple that really chip out. No voids though. I used to get it from Sloans and it was good stuff but the shipping got to be to much for me. I get these 5x5 sheets for $ 15.99 so I figure I can have a little waste and still come out ahead. All I cut is stack cut ornaments. No large fret work. I lose a bottom ornament once in a while due to chip out. grizz
  3. Nope I stand corrected the you're was right. Need to brush up on my spelling it's been a few years. still have not found the second error. Like a puzzle. We will figure it out. grizz
  4. Nice banner Scott. It should get the customers attention grizz
  5. You are right I believe it was the you're in the Don't stop until your'e proud. Steve had it you 're and the other was the B on bless this mess. there are seven patterns with different sayings. Two pattern sizes on each one. grizz
  6. I found the second error in Steve's patterns, it was the B on Bless this mess, it did not have any breaks in it for cutting out. I haven't found the first error yet. I cut the Take tine to smile and it came out great. grizz
  7. Congratulations on your new saw. My fourth saw was a Dewalt. Made tons of saw dust with that machine. finally wore it out or I thought so anyway and bought a Excalibur and now a Seyco. Love both of them. You will enjoy many years of cutting with your new toy. Have fun grizz
  8. I was at Scrappiles and he offered to give me cigar box. I didn't think I would use it so I declined. After looking at my saw for a while I decided it was a great idea. I built one out of wood scraps and added a six inch sloping piece to the front to make the saw dust fall in the box. I can't believe how much saw dust this catches. After three days cutting it had at least an inch of dust in it. the box is about 10x10in. I don't have dust collection so it really helps. Thanks Paul for the tip. grizz
  9. Thank You Paul, it was a good day

  10. I used to do a lot of business with Sloans, primarily 1/8 in Maple plywood for ornaments. Great service and great people. Unfortunately they could no longer get the 1/8 maple. Very sorry to hear Rhonda's cancer returned . I believe she had it in remission for several years. Hope she continues to do well. grizz
  11. I am using the GVS Elipse Half Mask respirator with Hespa P100 filters. I purchased from Ebay $ 26.95 and free shipping, but amazon has it as well. It works really well, I like it because it breathes both ways and does not get hot like some of the masks. The only thing I found it sits close to my eyes on the nose piece and I have to tilt my head a little different when scrolling. probably just my big head. I believe this might be the same mask Steve Good was using. grizz
  12. Your saw is different than mine on the adjustment knob Kevin. Mine sticks up about two inches or so above the cover. Mine is a 2010 green model. That was aid I just wrapped electrical tape around the threads. There was plenty of room. You do not have that option. Hope you get it resolved. grizz
  13. Kevin, I used the farm boy trick. I just adjusted the arm where its supposed to be and then took a roll of electrical tape and made several wraps around the threads below the knob. I did this to my EX and my Seyco as they both vibrated and moved out of adjustment over time, they have not moved since. Might not be as pretty as you want. I did fold over about a half inch tag end on the tape to make it easy to find the end and remove should I need to. This ended my frustration of the arm moving on its own all the time. grizz
  14. you got it figured out Paul you are cutting clockwise. Made for some interesting conversation anyway. not sure about putting the blade in backwards either, although I do quite often and have to turn it around. Old age I reckon. I was watching Kevin cut in one of his videos and he was cutting counter clockwise that's what made think of asking everybody. grizz
  15. Just making conversation to see what direction most of you scroll Clockwise or Counter clockwise. I am sure it is a personal preference. Many years ago when I first started scrolling there was not much for blades except Olson. I read somewhere that due to them being stamped in production the best direction was clockwise. Now with all the blades on the market it does not seem to matter as much which direction you cut. I still cut clockwise about 98% of the time due to habit. But as I am using Pegas MG and Flying Dutchman I find myself cutting both directions and don't see a lot of difference especially with the Pegas MG. Mostly cutting puzzles and stack cutting Ornaments. grizz
  16. I tried a Wen last year. purchased just to cut my stacked Ornaments into easy handling size and take some wear and tear off my Seyco. Seemed like a well made little machine. Had a very small table. The pinned blades were not to bad to change but the pinless were almost impossible. I made one or two cuts and returned the saw. grizz
  17. Congratulations, Very exciting to get a new saw. I am sure you will like it and have a lot of fun. grizz
  18. Welcome to the Village Bobby. Get some blades and make some saw dust. Sounds like you got a great deal. Takes a little while to get used to everything, so don't give up. Youi have a problem the people on here will figure it out. grizz
  19. Bob as Kevin said it will cause the arm to not be parallel to the table. For optimal saw tune you want the arm parallel to the saw table. I have read where people were using the rear knob to adjust the arm up and down quite a bit to get more use out of there worn blades. I also occasionally have to clamp and tension the blade and then re-tension before starting cutting. Don't know why but it seems to set everything In place and works for me. If moving the rear knob doesn't affect you sawing that's what you may have to do while using the spiral blades. Just a lot of extra work for you I don't think they have made the perfect saw yet, maybe close. Both of mine have there own quirks but I use them so much I guess I am used to it and don't notice anymore. I really hope you get it figured out and just have fun scrolling. Take care and make some saw dust grizz
  20. Welcome to the Village. Between everyone helping you will get it figured out. I have never used spiral blades but as the other readers suggested I have had to slightly put downward pressure on the arm to achieve a tight blade. ( to fat to use my chin though Lol ). I do not adjust the rear knob as that is what I use to get my saw in tune. Once set I have never moved it although I check it once in a while to make sure it has not moved. When I first got my ST 21 and my EX21 they both had a little vibration and the rear knob would turn on it's own and get the saw out of adjustment. I just wrapped a few wraps of electrical tape around the threads under the knob. problem fixed. If you keep moving the rear knob your saw will always be out of adjustment in my opinion anyway. Are you cleaning the blade ends well. The FD blades always have a oily residue after manufacturing. If you take some alcohol or other cleaner and a clean rag and clean the ends you will see what I mean. You might try cleaning the thumb screw ends as well to make sure they have not gotten some oil on them. I have the Pegas clamps on my ST21 and the regular clamps on my EX both tension quite well using regular blades. FD Silver Penguin reverse #1 and Pegas MG # 1 and #3. grizz
  21. nice job, looks like your design will not take up much space. I might have to build something like that for my extra saw.
  22. I have heard the salt trick works as well, but have not tried it. Glad you got it fixed Paul.
  23. QTENA.com is also taking pre-orders for this saw I believe. They are out of California and seem to have excellent customer service.
  24. I have the same problem with my computer. It tells me what to do. LOL grizz
