  1. I order my Pegas clamps and Blades from QTE as well . Richard is a great guy to work with. Fast shipping. grizz
  2. Definitely wear dust protection Tammi. There are several model respirators out there. Several on Amazon website. Steve Good has a couple reviews of some on his website. You will probably get several different ideas from readers. I have one of the models Steve Good recommended. Can't think of the model right now Sorry. It works great but for some reason it obstructs my view when scrolling. I just use it when I am sanding.. Right now I wear a 3M brand dust mask and have three box fans with good filters attached to them as I don't have a dust collector. They work pretty well and you can blow out the filters. Better than nothing. I also have a Wen dust collector hanging from the ceiling to clean the shop of very fine dust. I run it while I am working then set it for two hour run time when I leave the shop. grizz
  3. I have the EX21 and the Seyco saw. I love the larger table on the Seyco. I put pegas blade clamps on it and love those as well. I do not like the tilting mechanism on the Seyco at all. It is not gear driven as with the EX or the Pegas. My Seyco is really stiff and difficult to tilt. It comes with a digital gauge to attach to the upper arm so you can return to previous settings. But you have to calibrate it and I have not taken time to do so as I don't tilt that much. The Seyco is a great saw, that being said if you go with pegas saw which I probably would now ( I am like Srappile the pegas was not available when I purchased the Seyco ) I would just purchase a sheet of Masonite and enlarge the table. Basically all you are doing is adding a few inches to the front and a couple to the side. If you need the dimensions of the Seyco table we can supply you with them. Just use double sided tape to attach. Works great. Good Luck on your decision. grizz.
  4. probably great in it's day. Might be worth a hundred for some collector. I would have to pass. grizz
  5. I use FD blades on some projects but my go to blade is the PMG #3. Everybody has there favorite. grizz
  6. It's a great hobby glad you enjoy it. I started 22 years ago and still love to sit at my saw and scroll. probably where they will find me when I kick the bucket. Hope that is not for a while yet. You are making some very nice projects for just starting. Glad you are sharing pictures. grizz
  7. great job, keep up the good work.
  8. That sounds like its going to be a great trip. I hope you do well selling your crafts. I hope you post pictures and results. We only go for three or four weeks at a time so far so I don't anticipate taking my saw with me any time soon. Maybe someday. Good luck, have a safe trip. Take care grizz
  9. It is beautiful here. Whidbey island is also. Unfortunately the fishing here in the Columbia has really declined. The Salmon and Steelhead runs are so low they have closed the fishing the last two years. I think it will be some time before or if it recovers. My boat just sits in the garage. They had a phenomenal Walleye fishery but they took the retention and size limit off for them a couple years ago and they are far and few between now. Are you taking your saw traveling with you in your 5th wheel? grizz
  10. I got to see first hand the ramps closed and the water over the roads. Had to back my fifth wheel up about a half mile due to taking a wrong turn to a campground. I moved away 43 years ago but still miss the fishing. I do not miss the humidity though. .
  11. Looks very nice. I believe you will enjoy your setup. Wish I was back there crappie fishing with you. I am Originally from Clinton, Mo. I was back there in late May but there was a ton of water. Of course everything has changed for me since I left just as they were thinking about putting in Truman dam at Warsaw. All my old stomping grounds are under water. Enjoy your new saw and let us see some pictures of your projects please. grizz
  12. I just used double sided tape. I put it around the perimeter and about three or four strips crosswise. Seems to hold it very secure. I have put a new top on once after about a year and the tape was easy to remove. I didn't really need to put a new one on but I wanted a smaller hole where the blade goes through. I kind of made the first one a bit large. I actually have it attached to the magnetic top that came with my Seyco. It would work just as well attached to your metal table. grizz
  13. I believe the one Scott found on Lowes website is what I used. Works great for me. grizz
  14. I probably just called it Masonite. It looks just like Masonite when you cut it. I can't remember what it said. I believe it said something about writeable board or something of that nature. I like the white over the darker Masonite as to me it seems like my work shows up better. Again probably just me. It works very well for the price. I covered my Seyco plastic table top with it as the plastic was wearing out quickly.

I just went to Lowe's today. I'll have to back and look for it. They are only a few minutes from my home. Thank you for the update!

That I will do. I usually post nearly everything I do.

  15. Just use the Masonite it works great. Very inexpensive if you mess one up. Picked up a sheet of white Masonite at Lowes for $10.00. makes three table tops I believe. I have had mine on for a year and it is still in pretty good condition. Just wax once in a while, it really helps. grizz
  16. What Ray said. That should take care of your problem. I measure my arm every once in a while to make sure it has not moved even though it hasn't moved for a couple years. I wrapped electrical tape around the exposed threads and lesft a tag end in case I need to rewove it. works great. Some of the guys put blue lock tite on the threads to keep them secure. grizz
  17. So sorry for your loss Ray. Cannot even imagine that happening. Glad you are getting back on the Village and talking to everyone. Prayers to you and your family. grizz
  18. glad you had a good show. Hope the next ones will be even better. grizz
  19. Go Chiefs. Would like to see a picture of your finished Chiefs pattern when you are done. grizz
  20. nice Scott Congratulations. It's good to get a pat on the back once in a while as well as puts tour product out there more. grizz.
  21. Yes you will probably get much higher quality bearings at a local shop. Ray at Seyco told me it was a crap shoot on the ones he had as they were made in China. You might get a good one and you might not. Good luck, I hope you get some good parts and get it up and running soon. grizz
  22. If you can bite the bullet and put in all new linkage, you won't regret it. grizz
  23. I ended up replacing the complete linkage and motor cam om my EX. Seems like everything was under 200.00. I purchased the saw new and it was only about two years old when the motor cam bearing fell apart. Ray at Seyco talked me into changing all the linkage. It ran so much better when I was done. much better than when new. I believe that you can probably find a bearing for the motor cam but the linkage bearings I am not sure about, You are right it is worth fixing. good luck with your project. Keep us posted. Mine had some very thin shims in behind the motor cam bearing. If yours has those make sure they go back in or the motor cam bearing will not stay in the housing. grizz
  24. Fantastic scrollsaw work. looks very time consuming but worth the effort. grizz
  25. Hands down for me would be Ornaments. 3.5 in to 4 in in diameter and about anything you would like to make. Angels have been good for me. I have hundreds of different ones . What sells good this year might not sell the next year. The public can be finicky at times. I attend several shows in the fall and try to take some different patterns to each show to give them a choice. Hope you do well with whatever you decide to make. grizz
