  1. Good Luck at your shows tomorrow guy's I hope the weather holds and you do well. I know it's a lot of work to set up. grizz
  2. I actually have a Hitachi 12in. Have hade it several years. No problems but if I had a choice I would choose Dewalt. I believe they are worth the money and if you ever do any molding or anything where you need accuracy I think they are more accurate. I just didn't have the money to buy the yellow saw when I bought the green one. Sounds like you have a fix for your old saw anyway. grizz
  3. Welcome to the scroll saw world, I am sure you will enjoy it. I may be wrong but I believe you will have to get Olson blades to get the pinned end version. I would think a #3 or #5 would be a good place to start. This will limit how delicate of work you can do due to the drilled hole size for the pinned end blade. The good news is there are lots of projects to cut using the pinned end blades. Have fun and don't get discouraged if all your projects don't turn out perfect. A lot of ours don't either. Just keep sawing and you will be surprised what you can create. grizz
  4. Okay Paul I will be by that way one of these days and check it out. grizz
  5. Thanks Jim I believe i will take the time to try it. Thank You grizz
  6. Thank You Terry I will check into it. Looks like a nice light,

    grizz

  7. Jim does that make things easier with your table tilted. I was kind of afraid to try it. Afraid it might cause vibration in the saw not having all four legs on the concrete as Seyco suggests. Or maybe I'm lazy and didn't want to take time to experiment as my saw is in a pretty tight spot between my work tables. grizz.
  8. Congratulations on your new saw, you will be pleased. If you would have purchased the Seyco you would be pleased also. The free light with the Seyco not so much. Nice little light but way to small for me. I did attach it to my drill press and occasionally use it there for fine work. Can I ask what light you purchased from Amazon as mine are getting old. grizz
  9. Thanks again for the replies. I was wanting to make some for my craft shows. I make Harley Davidson puzzles that I bought patterns for but apparently they had permission to sell them I hope. It's nice to be able to get several opinions and I appreciate it.
  10. I agree with Kevin it should just slide right out. I have changed mine a couple times. They do stick but with something a little bit larger than the screw should push the sleeve right out. Push gently and wiggle the blade chuck Hope this helps grizz
  11. Thank You guy's for all your input. I will just forget it. I see no way to contact the people who have posted the pattern on Pinterest and get their permission not that I can tell anyway. If they already made the puzzle from the Looney toon drawings its possible that they did it illegal anyway. Thanks again. grizz
  12. It's a shame to lose 75 puzzles but could have been everything. Not bad considering. On the bright side you will get to spend more time in the shop cutting new ones. That's probably not much of a consolation since you spend so much time out there anyway. Hope everything goes well. grizz
  13. I recently was looking on Pinterest and saw someone made wood puzzles out of the Looney Toon characters Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny etc. What is your guy's ideas on legality of drawing a picture from those pictures or actually you would pretty much be copying them and making puzzles. I know there is a lot of controversy on using someone else's picture for patterns. I would like your thoughts please. Probably opening a whole can of worms. Thanks for your input grizz
  14. gorgeous work, I wished I had the patience to do that kind of finish work. grizz Oregon
  15. Hope everything is well for you when you get home. grizz Oregon
  16. I have your phone number Paul I can give her a call and tell her to check out your posts. LOL grizz Oregon
  17. I agree with Paul a lot is what you get used to. Sometimes it's hard to change. I tried the Jet a little over a year ago. I really like the top blade clamp and as I am a top feeder so the bottom clamp was okay as well. The saw I received vibrated so bad as to be unusable. I talked with the factory several times and we tried everything they could think of but nothing helped. I returned it and they sent another one. It was a lot better but still had quite a bit of vibration it would probably been fine to keep but other than the blade clamp system there was really no difference between the Jet and the EX21 or ST21 as far as the machine and mechanical parts, the tables are a little different, in fact I would think that the motor and parallel link system was exactly the same on the Jet as it is on the EX and ST. I returned that Jet as well and went back to my EX21 until this last spring I purchased a ST21. I still have the EX but use the ST almost exclusively. I really like the larger table once I got used to it. Nice Saw. grizz Oregon
  18. I have had several saws in the last twenty years. Several cheap ones that are not worth mentioning . I had a Dremel that I used for years that worked quite well then a Dewalt that was much better then bought a new EX21 that was very good. I bought a Hegner for a backup saw but it just wasn't for me. I have not tried the Hawk and like Scrappile I would like too. I now have a Seyco St21 and my EX21. The Seyco is my everyday saw and I have become to love it. Only if you tilt your saw a lot it takes more time than the Ex does. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the upper end saws it just depends on your needs for scrolling. I do have to mention that Ray at Seyco is very good at backing his saws and availability for parts should you need them for the EX and ST. Good luck on your decision. Scrollingforsanity Oregon
  19. Good Luck I hope you sell over 200!! grizz Oregon
  20. After I do a couple craft shows this fall and make some money I may try a set on my ST 21 we will see. grizz
  21. I am waiting for Scrappile to try them. Then I may give them a try myself. All the positives are sounding good. Good luck on the $ 300.00 gift card from Bear woods Scrappile grizz Oregon
  22. I went to Walmart today and bought two rolls and it was $ 5.74 a roll. Strange its more expensive where you live Iggy. Good old Walmart. grizz Oregon
  23. I have a EX just like that one I purchased in 2010 from Seyco. Many, many hours and it Still runs great. I have never replaced the bottom blade clamp but have replaced the top clamp and tension lever a couple times. On the left side it has a adjustable tension screw so to speak to keep the upper arm up. You can adjust it to the level of tension you want to keep the arm up. Don't get it too tight. I now have a Seyco ST21 and use my EX for backup and some other projects. I think you would be very happy with the saw for that price. grizz Oregon
  24. Nick Nolte played in movie 48 Hours with Eddie Murphy nice job on the pattern. grizz Eastern Oregon
