  1. Absolutely stunning. It will be treasured forever. !!
  2. Don't know about anyone else but, I use ¼" because I like the 'depth' it gives and because I usually only do 'one offs' another consideration for me at least is Tony has tons of the stuff and it's free.
  3. Wow, such detail ... You are an amazing scroller Paul and I look forward to seeing 'progress' pictures as you work with this piece.
  4. Beautiful pieces. I admire your skill. Speed and accuracy is not my forte but you are so good at it. It would have taken me a week !!
  5. I've used Tony's big bandsaw before for compound cuts and they turned out fine. I've yet to be brave enough to try one on the Scrollsaw
  6. I love the little 'stick' people, I've never seen them before
  7. Paul, I agree the 'Vikings' are superb but that said I Love the gnomes too. Long may you scroll

  11. That's so pretty Gator, I'm sure it will look fabulous when she's painted it and it will be always treasured
  12. Welcome to the Village Jos, it's a great place to be. Pull up a chair and check out all the forums, patterns and great people here.
  13. Must admit the best advice I got when I first started was 'don't be bullied by the wood' just get a firm push 'down' and pin it to the saw table and just put in front of the blade the bit you want to cut. Now I know that sounds vague and perhaps fanciful but it worked for me. .. I only have my saw on ¾ speed and actually talk to it when cutting a 'difficult' piece saying ''You will only cut what I put in front of you'' . I only cut a ¼'' of wood at a time, I find if I look at the whole pattern the saw takes over and whizzes away from me.
  14. Sooo Cute.
  15. Great cutting, Fabulous idea with the paint. I will store that in my memory bank.

  22. I got my 1st scrollsaw from Aldi's just over a year ago as I thought it might be interesting to try something new in my retirement. I was quite happy with it for a month or so then I discovered this forum and that was it. After seeing some of the amazing things that people cut on here, I bought a new saw and I've gone from silhouettes and simple cut outs to my beloved Gorilla. I would never have imagined in a lifetime that I could do something like this. I'm totally addicted.
  23. Welcome to the Village, it's a great place to be. Enjoy !!
