  1. Welcome to the Village from over here in the U.K. I love your clock, may I ask where you got the pattern from... Cheeky ain't I ?
  2. Oh WOW !!! I thought my husband was bad enough with 5
  3. I have noticed that many of you have 'multiple' saws. May I ask the reason for this ? Do different saws do different things? I have two saws one is a little Pin End saw that I still use, but then, when I came on here I found out about Pinless saws and the world that they could open up for me. I have an Axminster that I love but is it 'all' I need or do I need to prise open husbands wallet again ?? However, reading some posts and seeing photo's of peoples workshops, it seems that owning 2/3/4 saws is not uncommon and I just wondered why? Just being nosy really xxx Brenda
  4. Amazing talent and an artistic eye. If I was younger and had thumbs that worked I'd give it a try.
  5. Brilliant. you must have so much patience as well as skill. xx
  6. Wow, so much to learn, !! and so little space in my brain...when you've lived longer than you are going to it can be quite daunting. LOL.
  7. Excuse my ignorance but I always thought that the 'higher' the number the bigger the blade. Is this not so in spirals ?
  8. I'm considering getting some spiral blades, is there a size that is most useful ? I'm considering trying some portrait patterns. I know there's quite a few people on here that do them, so thought I'd ask before buying.
  9. I didn't have a good day at the saw today. I tried cutting something way beyond my capabilities. I tried 4 times to no avail. So tonight I cut something small and simple just because I needed to cheer myself up.
  10. Great work, I think the train is magical
  11. So neat, I wish my circles were that good. Have a fabulous show, fingers crossed for lots of customers for you xx
  12. Don't know you sir, but welcome back. I'm here in the UK too and joined this year . Brenda xx
  13. She looks very pleased and proud, and so she should. Well done Jessica xx
  14. Beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. xxx
  15. Ray, (octoolguy) I know I'm pretty new to this scrollsaw stuff, but I find that a clamp works brilliantly. I made mine after watching this. If I'm overstepping the mark, please feel free to ignore. ....
  16. I know it must sound strange that I need something like this but, I have 'honeycomb' for bones in my thumbs, so have very limited use of them and believe me you have to come up with some strange solutions in life when your thumbs don't work
  17. I also have clamps like this, I'm not sure I made myself understood. I can't hold the 'red' key that you show in your photo, so my husband has taken the key and loaded it into a screwdriver handle. That way I can hold it in my palm and turn it easier. xx
  18. Stunning
  19. It's native to the UK. It's a Robin and we have them our Christmas Cards at this time of year,
  20. I have struggled putting blades in my machine as I find my fingers don't work well enough to turn the knob to tighten the clamp. I've never mentioned it to anyone and just kept 'struggling'. Well,,,, without me knowing, my husband had noticed that I struggle and came up with this... It works brilliantly as it fits in my hand and I can turn it easily. So proud of him for caring enough
  21. Lovely, I'm sure she'll treasure it. xxx
  22. To be honest, now you've said that, when I look at the photo now, I think I'll do a full square backer that's bigger than the piece, as you say it would give it a border and finish if off nicely , Thank you xxx
  23. Aldi in the UK, have 10 acrylic paints for £4.99, they are £6.99 online. I've been looking for some and they seem to range between £10 + £25 Don't know if this is of any interest to anyone, but I bought some.
  24. bobscroll very kindly did this pattern for me, before I got my new saw, so it's done on my little PinEnd machine. I love it, but a quick question for those with more knowledge than me.... I've considered putting a red/pink backer on it , or a nice 'wood coloured' backer, now does this type of work usually have a backer on it or do you leave it as it is ? My plan is to have it in my little work area so that I see it every day. To bobscroll, my grateful thanks to you for doing this for me, and to all who have expanded my scrolling know how. It's opened up a whole new world to me and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. xxxx Brenda xxx
  25. I'm a 'very' sweet lady in the UK. !!!!!!!!!! Serously though, that looks absolutely beautiful, I'm sure she's be over the moon with it, Congratulations on such gorgeous work. xx
