  1. Great looking sign Les! Nice sharp letters looks fantastic in oak. When I try one of those signs do you start with the small letters or the large...or does it make any difference?
  2. Is the word signs a separate video? I watched the Inkscape basic series but don't remember the signs. I would like to learn them!
  3. Love it Alex! Looks great! As a veteran it has a special meaning, I'll be trying it soon.
  4. Not familiar with "DnD" …?
  5. I ordered one from Amazon last night. I looked for one at Lowes once, then forgot to hunt further, they didn't have one. At the time I thought it was just a convenience thing. We'll see what happens. If junk I'll order from Dremel to be sure I get the real thing. Thanks for the heads up.
  6. Maybe a Chihuahua...
  7. Thanks Les! I don't have the adjustable chuck, been using the collets with 1/8th drill bit. I have the Dremel plunge setup, that works good. I'll order the adjustable chuck.
  8. SO.....to make a smaller hole that doesn't show, or is easier to hide, you use a "numbered" bit. I ordered a pack of 56,60,65,68 which should work for #7, #5, #3, #1 respectively. Other than a micro bit adapter for a drill press, that I don't have, how do you use these tiny things?
  9. I've seen in a couple of pictures, and a video or to I think, folks raising the rear of their saw...maybe a 2x4 ? What is the purpose of that? Who all has done that, and how do you like it?
  10. Awesome piece of art Ron!!! As others have said, the matting and framing just makes an already fantastic piece that much better! Glad to know the Michaels tip, as I haven't been able to make a nice frame and have a Michaels in Joplin where we go often.
  11. Just noticed...looks like a HAM tower to your left...?
  12. I can see how it would be...lol I saw that optical illusion piece, I think Rabid Alien put it up, the other day. That would drive me crazy(er) looking at it while cutting...lol
  13. That's very good. I zoomed in and can't even guess where the hole was! Got to finish some things up, but hope to try an inlay first of next week. Hopefully my new King 16" saw will be in!
  14. looking good...err scary!
  15. Great job! I saw his bowl patterns and thought....yea right...maybe in a year or so. What's the hardest/trickiest part doing a bowl ?
  16. Really nice looking! I like the lighting. We are thinking of something like that...but put the project off till next summer. We'll want to screen it for sure. I saw the mosquitos carry off the neighbor's cat the other night!
  17. WOW!! Unreal...the piece itself is awesome!!! And the pattern also...amazing!
  18. I ordered a brand new King 16" scroll saw!! I was going to drive up to Woodcraft in KC yesterday morning, over 2 hrs., but I called as soon as they opened. The guy I wanted to talk to wasn't working so another guy checked all over the store and could only find the floor display, none still in the box. I prefer to get one in the sealed box so I know there is nothing missing and that it's not a return. He found 8 in the warehouse and being first thing Monday, said we should have no trouble getting one of those. I actually bought it Monday, the last day of the sale, so I got the discount. Glad I called first ! They wanted $130 for the stand...I can do better than that. Will probably build a bench for the shop and look for a metal stand to easily unbolt for travel. Can't wait for my new toy !!!!!
  19. I tried that at first...left a mess to get off. But I did use mineral spirits that sat in the shop over a year, and I've got a new bottle now. I also didn't let it set on the paper 20-30 min. like someone said, I just dabbed it on waited about a min. and started pulling. Maybe I should try it again...the right way. What works best and cleanest for you?
  20. Sure, I'll come back tonight and give you the details.
  21. First...That's really nice, and I like the way it looks in walnut! Second...another newbie question...what is "sanding sealer" is that what it's called...or does it have another name? Spray, liquid? I've just never used or heard of it before.
  22. No, The stuff from Lowe's turned out to have a top and bottom layer of birch and the center was more of a MDF glue and sawdust. It's ok I guess if there are NO narrow places, cutting a silhouette maybe, or good for backer board. I got some true 5 layer Baltic Birch plywood from Ocooch Hardwoods in Viola WI. This stuff is much better to cut than the Lowe's stuff! I took a piece to my local lumber yard and he had the same stuff, 3 layer, as Lowe's. Might have been a bad piece...I've seen some but not that much. I haven't used the new blue tape yet. I used the clear shelf liner and that was ok, I didn't think it held as strong as the blue tape...but maybe it doesn't need to. There was no splintering with the shelf liner. I may try some of that delicate release blue tape Les was talking about...I didn't know there was anything but standard blue painters tape.
  23. Walmart doesn't have that in the store. I may have to order it if I don't see it next time I'm in Lowe's.
  24. Very nice! I also looked at the guitar pick tray video. That's really nice too, I may try that.
