  1. Fantastic looking display!! Is this a show you do every year...or the first time? I like the variety of items, something for everybody. Great job!
  2. Cool boxes Ron! Super craftsmanship.
  3. Set the hook! Reel him in! I know...I see something neat and wonder what I could use it for...
  4. Thanks John for bringing Sam Custodio up. Someone else mentioned him yesterday, I think, and I found a couple I want to do. On your mention I went back and scrolled way past the other stuff I stopped at...and found some more cars way on down, even a bus!
  5. Sharp looking! A lasting memory!
  6. WOW...you really dive into the tough ones Paul. Fantastic cutting! Charles Hand has done some really beautiful patterns. I hope to be good enough to cut one of those in a few months.
  7. Very cool Don!! I watched the video and one making a fish from letters FISH. This gives me all kinds of ideas! There are literally millions of things and ideas that can be done on the scroll saw...just takes some learning of methods.
  8. That's what I'm going to do next summer...install a big natural gas heater. I built a 18x30 shop building after we moved in last year. Then I had a chance to get it insulated last winter...spray foam baby!!! Now my shop is an Igloo cooler! An electrician friend had an extra 220V electric heater, 18,000-20,000btu I think, so I hung that. Does well down to about 40* outside, keeps me around mid to upper 60s. When it's in 30s or below I fire up one of those propane patio heaters! I can work in a T shirt...lol. I crack the roll up door open about 6" for fresh air...and the neighbor kitties like to come in and warm up . A regular NG heater with a thermostat would be much better! One with A/C would be even better than that !!!
  9. Me too! I would like patterns of Classic Cars and Hot Rods if anyone has some, please. I've heard they sell well, and it would be good to make them when I'm down south this winter with all the other old "Snow Birds" lol. There are a lot of flea markets, craft shows, RV park garage sales, etc. Maybe I can cover some of our weekly trips to Mexico... If anyone wants to send me one or some email it to [email protected]
  10. First...That's a really cool design and you did a fantastic job of cutting it!! That would drive me over the edge cutting it John B said it best...lol. Second....Thank you for introducing me to Sam Custodio! I went to his Facebook page and looked at his work...I really like a lot of his stuff! I'll be cutting some of it soon. And Third...I'm still waiting to see the finished "Frog" pattern... Again, great job on the optical illusion!
  11. Thanks Kevin!
  12. Thanks Paul! I want to try a bunch of different things and narrow down to the ones I like to do. Then try to get good at, or at least better at, those.
  13. Finished up the first clock I've made. I did it in 1/2" Oak with several Pegas #3s, then gave it a bath in Watco Danish Oil. Used a Forstner bit for the first time, man does it make a pile of shavings fast, to drill a 1 3/8" hole 1/4" deep. Then set and installed the 1 7/16 clock insert. Not sure where the pattern came from. I think I saw it while surfing the internet.
  14. ELVIS LIVES!!! Great job ! If it's that easy I might try to do one.
  15. Lookin good Kevin! I really like those leaf ornaments!
  16. Thanks Ron! I want to try some different woods. I think Ocooch Hardwoods has a grab box every few weeks with different size pieces of all kinds of wood. That would be a less expencive way to see how they look when finished. I could then order my favorites!
  17. Thanks John! This came out OK, so I think I'll try to sell it and make my wife one from hardwood. She loves hummingbirds.
  18. I tried to router the tabs. Couldn't get the jig set up right...not enough patience lol. A table saw moving the piece trying to mimic a dado blade, that I don't have, didn't work either.
  19. Wonderful cutting of such a fantastic cause. Too bad there is such a need for that type of thing. I, like most others now days, have had friends and family that fought one type of cancer or another.
  20. Really cool piece! I remember watching several seasons of the original.
  21. Thanks Dick! This is the first time I've done tab style joints and finished the project...lol. I can never get the joints to fit right and end up throwing it away before I finish! I kind of like the way it turned out, and thinking of cutting it again soon with hardwood of some type. Got an owl clock about done, will probably post it later today. It's my first clock.
  22. It's been cold and rainy last two days, got the shop heated up enough to do this Steve Good pattern. I left it open instead of using an inside liner to turn a trinket box into a potpourri box. I used 1/4" birch ply, red spray painted lid liner, sprayed 2 coats of Minwax PolyShades Classic Oak
  23. Very beautiful Denny. Don't think I've seen that design before.
  24. No frog here Brenda...lol. I'm with your husband on this one
