  1. I tried it for a while...with mixed results. It's easier to get the blade through the hole in the piece. A little slower through the table because I have the plastic piece for the built-in vacuum. Not bad putting in and clamping bottom without looking. For some reason I bend up the top of the blade, when bottom feeding, and have a heck of a time getting it through the piece. Top feeding helps that. I'm using a #56 bit and I may be punching it too fast. I use a Dremel plunge setup. The #3 and #5 blades don't always want to go through without a fight.
  2. I like John B's setup also. When we get back next spring I may try to build something like that.
  3. That's the way I put a new blade in also. I guess it never occurred to me to put it through the piece that way...lol
  4. Thanks Dan! So it's actually the SAW... not the Pegas blade chuck that allows you to "top feed". I have a King now (love it...the WEN sold Tuesday) so I could top feed. Think I'll try it today, if I can get the shop warmed up. The WEN was a bottom feeder and when I got the King last month I didn't know you could do it different. That's OK...I've been called a "Bottom Feeder" before...
  5. In looking at Pegas Blade Chuck Heads I notice some ads say "Allows top feeding of your scroll saw blades!". So just exactly what is this?
  6. Back in my engineering days (30 yrs ago) One company I was with built makeup air heaters for Macco, prisons, all kinds of places. Those setups were some high dollar ones.
  7. WOW! Congratulations. Did you get any pictures? What 2 or 3 items sold most?
  8. Cool idea Dan, it came out good! I can't reach you with my little Yaesu 2980, maybe a better set up some day. 73s Dan Gary aka KG5WZI
  9. Great job Paul!! You almost want to reach out and pet him.
  10. Thanks Ralph! If I get time I may do it again, in Maple this time with a Mahogany backer.
  11. Great cut! Very cute. A spiral blade...you are brave! I put on a spiral blade and it's like a bobcat in a gunny sack !
  12. Great looking!
  13. Great works Kevin!! Where did you get the cat pattern? I've been wanting to do a cat like our cat, but am not up to the intricate patterns I've seen...yet. That one I can cut.
  14. Thanks Jim! I do some food vending also, a hot dog cart and lemonade setup. The crowd, or lack of, is about the same...no one or a line. The $5 increment is a great idea! I price my vending stuff in even dollars so I don't have to mess with change. I have a note on the bottom of my menu...but I would not have thought about a sign on a show table. Thanks for reminding me! I will price each item, as I do in the flea market display I have down the street.
  15. Thanks for telling us about your show. I want to do some down the road and want to know what to expect.
  16. Great to hear about your show. I want to do some shows in the next year or so. What 2 or 3 items sold the most? Was there an item you didn't have but wished you would have?
  17. A really nice body of work! I can identify with the last one...lol
  18. Hi Margaret! In your gallery you have an Elvis portrait dated July 9, 2017. It's on the first page. Do you have the pattern or remember where it came from ? I would like to try a portrait and that looks really cool...and not too hard to do.

    Thanks, Gary

I'm not too sure where I got it from or if I still have the pattern, I will check for you tomorrow, because I won't have chance today.

  19. WOW! How many layers are in that one Alex?
  20. Thanks Les! It's my first cross. I've seen a bunch pf really beautiful patterns out there.
  21. Thanks Ron! I’m having fun exploring alll the things you can do with it.
  22. Just finished up Steve Good's Christmas Nativity Cross in 1/4" BB ply. This is the smaller version, it came out better than I thought...may have to do the larger one. Spray lacquer on the fretwork and mahogany Minwax gel stain on the backer.
  23. You guys that use the Shellac & alcohol mixed 50/50...do you mix it each time? Can you make a batch to keep on hand? If so how long is it good for and how should you store it...glass or plastic bottle? Same questions for the BLO and mineral oil crowd. Never used either...but they sound interesting.
  24. Looking good Kevin. Do you stop to eat? Or do they just deliver pizza to your saw?
  25. Ray, I've noticed that before. Tha first time after putting a new blade in. But just didn't pay it any attention. I've tried to pluck the blade to see if it has a high clear tone...but my music is playing too loud on the Bose to hear it...lol By the way...if there are some really good tunes on, and you're changing the blade to the next hole...don't start tapping your foot if you use a foot switch...….don't ask me how I know
