  1. Nice setup Frank. Good thing you had that shelf above the workbench!
  2. Woo Hoo ! The Wahuda 8" jointer came in today! Two down, one to go...and the table saw is due in to Lowe's today just waiting for a call.
  3. That little electric heater will only warm it up about 20*, and it's about 30* so 50* is the best it'll do. And that runs up the electric bill like crazy! I have a propane patio heater that I run intermittently, but the hose started leaking so it's off line till the replacement gets here. It's due in today.
  4. Not good...can't do a thing with them mittens on!
  5. And look who I found hanging out!
  6. Me too!! Still trying to envision the best way to set it up. Trying to keep it as flexible as possible because it's not a "wood shop only" and need to do other things there. The table saw and the jointer are both due in tomorrow. It'll probably be end of the week or next week before I'm able to work in the shop. I'm in the middle of a walk in closet remodel that's a challenge and a half. I think the high school wood shop built this house...unsupervised!
  7. Sounds good Denny! I'll check my blades in the next day or two and probably get an order together.
  8. We lived in Tucson for about 3 years, About 2 blocks W of I-10 on Grant, we were managing a self storage and lived on site. Lots of fantastic restaurants, and the southern most ski resort in the US. Had a shooting range about 5 min. from the house and a gun show every other weekend. Lots of interesting things around there.
  9. But I bought a smaller fishing boat...A Twin Troller. It's in the shop as we speak, waiting for warmer weather. Check it out Freedom Electric Marine - The Worlds Best Fishing Boat I'm not going to be without a way to go fishing!
  10. I looked back and saw that I did try Cherokee last October. They were quick and nice wood! They, along with Ocooch get a thumbs up from me!
  11. I squirreled away some money from the sale of my bass boat for shop equipment. My three major items are a Delta 36-725T2 table saw (on order) a DeWalt DW734 planer (in the shop) and a Wahuda 8" jointer (ordered yesterday) ! Then I'll make some rolling tables, one assembly about 4' x 4' same height as the Delta saw's table for an outfeed and assembly table. Then one each for planer and jointer also sized to match the assembly for extended outfeed. I may even make one for my benchtop drill press and get it off the main workbench. When I rearrange the shop they will roll up to an outside wall for storage, leaving the center of the shop open. Well...at least that's the plan...LOL.
  12. I use Ocooch also. Always what I need and super fast shipping. Most times I can order by Tuesday and have it delivered Friday! I tried Heritage one time last summer, I ordered on the 7th...my card was charged on the 20th...and it was another 10days or so before delivery! the order was for 2 pieces of Poplar. Not impressed. I haven't tried others though. I hear Cherokee is good.
  13. I bought the DeWalt DW780 12" double bevel sliding compound miter last summer. Great saw!! It has a light, instead of a laser, that shows you where both sides of your blade are going to cut. I put it on a Delta 36-267 folding miter saw stand. It's real beefy and has sliding arms that will support a total over 9' of board. still folds up and rolls out of the way. Then I stuck a 100 tooth Makita blade on it. I really like the setup!
  14. Awesome John!
  15. Thanks for reminding me John. I've used a couple of things a year ago, but forgot it was there. I think there is a few shapes in there that I can use in a design.
  16. My shop is proof of that...lol.
  17. I just got the Ryobi cordless one. Really like it and wonder why I didn't get one a long time ago! I also like the cordless aspect as I can use it for anything anywhere...grab and go.
  18. I got one last month, and love it. I went with the Ryobi cordless model. It's great to just shoot a pin anywhere that will be waste, and it's much more solid to cut. If I don't need more than 2-3 copies I just throw a piece of scrap on the back and shoot away!
  19. I did the Steve Good holder. I works well for me and sits nice on the side of my saw.
  20. Looks awesome lighted Marg!
  21. Looks good Mimi! My cousin there in OKC says they got a bunch of snow. We got more ice on the trees than snow on the ground.
  22. Cool idea Les! I like the Honey Pine stain. I'll have to try it sometime if I run across a piece of material.
  23. Awesome work John!
  24. I'm not going down that rabbit hole!
  25. Hey Dave...great minds think alike LOL. I just made one of those a couple of days ago! I'm going to put a cleat or something on it to wind the cord on when it's parked close to a plugin.
