  3. Happy new year everyone!!!
  4. I made this wood storage rack. I think it'd worked really well so far. I've shoved too many smaller pieces in the three shelves on the left and need to thin it out, next week. I store boards vertically from right to left...short 3', med. 4-6', long 6' + . Plenty of room behind for sheet goods. It has casters to move out to clean...RIGHT but I can blow the stuff out from under with a leaf blower! Looking at it empty...I had a thought, amazing. I went to the, cold, shop and checked the size of the bins on the left. When I built this, 2 yrs ago, I hadn't started scrolling yet and had no idea a spot to store 12"x12" pieces of Baltic Birch Plywood would be a necessity. I just measured it and it's a little tight. I could either trim off a 1/8" and lay them flat, or empty the top bin and stand them vertically. I'll do the later in the next couple of days!
  5. What does it take to clean up one of these "barn finds" to useable shape? How would you go about it...and would it be worth the effort?
  6. WOW...that is an antique!
  7. Interesting... On the table saw (I'm looking at them) What model, When did you get it? How much have you used it? Don't want to hijack the thread, but you made an interesting statement.
  8. I see the beast folded up behind the trash can...I have one of those too. Hate the fence!
  9. King, Pegas, Seyco...?
  10. "as for the delta TS mentioned- i would stay away from any table saw that is either direct drive or has the motor under the table. belt drive with motor hanging off the back is the way to go." ??? How so? What's the difference, other than $2000+ cabinet saws?
  11. Merry Christmas everyone! Dick, I'll bet it's warmer there this morning! It was 11* when I got up!!
  12. Merry Christmas Travis ! Thanks for all your hard work to keep "The Village People" cutting !
  13. Merry Christmas everyone !!
  14. Thanks Travis!! I like the winter Christmas theme! Yea...I popped all the Christmas lights also, LOL. And I thought I was the only one...till I looked at this post
  15. You got that right Kevin. In one comparison I saw, mid-range table saws, it compared 11 saws (2 Saw Stop models) and gave a bunch of data on each. In the "Country" column - Delta, Jet, Laguna, Powermatic, and the 2 Saw Stops were made in Taiwan. While the Grizzly, Harvey, Ridgid, Rikon, and Shop Fox were all made in China. So if you need a part for most major brands you better hope it's in stock at a US service center. Otherwise you're trying to get it from overseas! Is there a new American made table saw in the $800 - $2000 range?
  16. But most of you are sighting Delta tools bought several years ago. I'm looking for a better table saw than I have and see this Delta 725T2...a few of the reviews like it, saying it's a great and accurate saw. Then a few of the reviews say it's junk, even smokes around the drive belt, and have trouble getting service. What do you believe??? At $600 at Lowe's it's attractive. All of the saws I've looked at so far from Delta to Saw Stop and Powermatic are either built it Taiwan or China! I would think Taiwan may be better made...but who knows!
  17. I don't know what the "proper" size is for each blade...but I don't do real intricate fretwork yet. I mainly use a 1/16th bit when possible, but when there's not much room I use a #56. When I was starting, a little over a year ago, I ordered several sizes. I don't think I've ever used the...#60, #65, #68 I normally use a Pegas #3, #1 and once in a while a #5. I may try to tame the evil spiral blades this next year. I think I have Pegas #1, #0, #2/0 or 3/0 don't remember.
  18. If they are as good as the blades, let me know when they show up.
  19. When you drill a hole in 1/8 ply and it smokes...ya think it’s time to change your drill bit... LOL.
  20. Very nice! Does it come with a pair of dice...lol? I have 2 pair and a couple of decks of cards that have been used in the casinos.
  21. Only 1 scroll saw...at a time. Started with a WEN, cheep to try the obsession...I mean hobby. I liked it a lot so I got a good saw, a King 16" and sold the WEN. If I ever get another scroll saw I'll probably get the same style, Pegas, Seyco, EX, in a 21" but I'll keep the 16" for a travel saw. It doesn't take up much room in the 5th wheel!
  22. I had forgotten about Bulls Eye Shellac, I've used that before. The next batch of 8 ornaments will need to go out quickly also. I may just pick up a can of Bulls Eye and spray them tomorrow, let sit over night, box Monday morning and let them fly.
  23. Would the regular oil base poly work the same as water base poly?? I have oil base, and I can't find water base Polycrylic around here.
  24. Thank you everyone!!! I really appreciate it!
  25. Good point. I've been thinking about a laser also. When I do I'll try water base poly first! Although I do like the smell of a campfire...
