  1. Beautiful box Dave!! Love the inlay!! You could have just sent it to me...LOL
  2. Awesome job Frank!
  3. Over the 4th of July weekend my wife made me an apple pie, I made a rack of ribs on the Traeger, and I cut a baseball piece! This Hank Aaron piece is an Al Baggetta pattern done in Red Oak with Lacquer finish. Several Pegas #1 & #3 blades gave their lives for this.
  4. Here's a few beach type things I've done. Guess I'll have to cut something else "beachy" this month. The two lighthouses are window shutters I did for a lady last summer. I made two panels from Poplar, about 16"w x 26"h x 1" d
  5. Great idea Denny! I can get some different blades to try, but not have a ton sitting around if I don't like or don't use them much.
  6. Good looking pattern. Is that one of Pedro's ( Finescrollsaw ) ? I would love to do one...but don't think I have the skills or for sure the patience lol.
  7. Here in SW MO it went from 65* first of the month to 85* for a week then 90*+ now! I got out the window A/C a few days ago and shoved it in the only window in the shop. It's only a 5,000btu but that's the only one that would fit in the window, but where I have my scroll saw I can direct the cold air right on me My shop is a 18 x 30 metal building I had put up 3 yrs ago. The cement floor helps in the summer...not so much in the winter. The first winter after it was finished I stumbled on a great deal on insulation! A guy from KS was doing a large spray foam job in my area and had enough leftover chemicals to do my shop. Rather than just throw away the chemicals he just charged me the labor and turned my shop into an Igloo cooler! Like Kevin, I have trees that shade it from noonish on so the baby A/C will keep it tolerable most days.
  8. You still in CA? I thought you moved to somewhere in TN a while back?
  9. This got me to looking. I get my BB ply from Ocooch, in Aug '20 I got 12 x 12 x 1/8 for $0.93 ea. and 12 x 12 x 1/4 for $1.55. Now 12 x 12 x 1/4 is $2.16 ea. and they don't even have 12 x 12 x 1/8 . I've never seen them out of 1/8 or 1/4 before! Wonder what the price will be when they get some again? I also checked Walnut and Poplar from that Aug. order...and they are the same price today...? It looks like just plywood is going sky high...for now. Now for the $64,000 question. Do you "assume" hardwood will do the same shortly and buy a bunch now...or just get what you need and ride it out?
  10. I'll add another bird before we go on to the next challenge. I cut it last week. It's a Sheila Landry pattern cut in Maple with a Mahogany backer sprayed with rattle can satin Lacquer.
  11. It's on Sheila Landry's website. The napkin holder comes with this together.
  12. Awesome Charlie!
  13. Great cutting Jim!! And thank you for sharing the pattern!
  14. My granddaughter, and fishing buddy, was here last weekend so I made this for her. It's a Sheila Landry pattern cut in Maple with a Mahogany backer sprayed with rattle can satin Lacquer.
  15. I have a customer that is a retired law enforcement officer. His wife and daughter have passed away over the years and he's moving into a smaller home 1st of July, I would like to do some kind of piece for him. Some of you may know of an existing pattern, if so please point me to it. If not I would appreciate some help. He sent me some info and a picture of the badge. Maybe something with a badge, and some info under it...? I don't think I could cut the emblem or small stuff in the middle...any ideas? I'm not very good at design. Retired 23 years of service Badge number 056 Greeley CO Police Dept. Thanks for any help!
  16. Nice projects Danny! When all the shows shut down I just quit cutting, almost. I need to ramp up in hopes of next season.
  17. Very beautiful Dick, a keepsake for sure.
  18. Awesome!!! Both the car and your work!!
  19. Lots of great info there! I read several of Don's articles, and will go back and read more later. I like the spray booth, I think I'll make one similar. I may enlarge it slightly to put an easel in it to finish coat portraits, or maybe add a turntable. That would sure help with any overspray.
  20. Thanks Bob! I've just spent the last 2-3 hrs. watching airbrush videos. Fascinating stuff, gave me a ton of ideas...like I needed more projects to go with the 10 or so laying around the shop. That would be THE thing for my Cancer ribbons as I'm not real happy with the finish I get from a rattle can. Do you spray all three you mentioned out of an Anthem 155?
  21. Great job Frank! I agree, the framing really adds to the piece. It really showcases the work.
  22. Awesome Charlie!! I'm a fan also, great actor.
  23. Interesting read, thanks Bob. Yesterday I went on You Tube and watched a few Badger Anthem 155 videos...wow! The things some of those guys do is awesome! I watched several by a guy named Jamie Rodriguez...WOW! I think one is in my future, just to play with.
  24. Here's a flock of birds I've done.
