  1. Just WOW! Really like the second one.
  2. Frank, it represents aN internationally recognized scoring system for antlers. It takes many things into consideration including number of points on the antlers, length, circumference, antler spread etc…. It helps to dampen the “my rack was bigger than yours” discussions often heard in the barroom.
  3. First of all thank you to @Grandpa for converting the picture below into a pattern. This was my first real portrait, and was cut for a friend of mine. Cut from BB with a homemade walnut frame on my Pegas with a #0 mgt spiral.
  4. Thanks Rodney
  5. Thanks Dick, once these are done I am going to give one of your combines a try.
  6. Thanks Bernd, we need to meet for lunch soon.
  7. Steve posted these patterns a couple weeks ago. Finally sat down at the saw yesterday and cut all 10 and then some. As you can see I stack cut these so I now have 30+ ornaments to paint and assemble. They were cut on my Pegas using mgt #3. I did cut one full size snowflake for the window, I duplicated the top layer so it is two sided. The other 10 I reduced to 50% so they are better sized for the tree. My wife wants a full size set for the house windows now so I guess I better get back to the saw.
  8. Thank you sir.
  9. Amen Brother!
  10. Dick, would you mind sharing the source of the pattern?
  11. I was just wondering about you, glad to see you here again and I love seeing your work.
  12. This is my first portrait cut and also my first real effort using spiral blades outside of puzzle veining. Still not sure I am a fan of spirals, maybe it just takes more practice. Cut on my Pegas using #2 pegas spiral and #3 mgt for lettering on 1/8” bbp. The pattern is by Gordon Woodall who posted his cut over a year ago and was kind enough to share the pattern. I should add that I added the Wisconsin to Gordon’s design. I did stack cut this and ended with two copies although the fuzzies were really bad on the top copy. Just need to add a hanger and mount it on the barroom wall. Thanks to my friend @munzieb who gave me a long list of great recommendations on cutting and finishing portraits.
  13. You’re very wise Marg, yes they do.
  14. My granddaughter asked for a sparkle pink bat so she got it.
  15. Most of probably saw this pattern that Steve Good published this morning. My oldest granddaughter who is 3 has decided that spooky things and Halloween are the absolute best so I got to cutting after my cup of coffee. Now I need to determine how to paint this up for Shiloh so it can go on her bedroom wall. Cut on my Pegas with MGT#3 blade except for using a spiral blade for the veining. Be blessed. ADDED the painted version
  16. Corvettes with trunks rock (‘57-61). Awesome job
  17. Top layer us 1/4 bbp. backer is mdf. To even the stain color on the bbp I use a 2lb cut laquer sanding sealer and very lightly sand before staining. Then it gets several coats of H2O based poly in matte finish. Edge is copper foil.
  18. I cut them on my scrollsaw which is challenging due to the size. I cut both layers at once do they match. I have devised a plan to cut them using a circle cutting jig and my router with a hole in the backer board but for now I cut them on my ss slowly and carefully.
  19. A couple of big home improvement projects have kept me off the scrollsaw for 2 months or so and they are finally complete. I recently received 2 requests for a couple of my wedding/anniversary signs. They are two layered and cut with pegas skip tooth #3. It was great fun to be back on the saw. Be blessed.
  20. Scrapplie, you and @munzieb should teach a masters class on plane and automotive portraits! These are stunning.
  21. The Delta 14 inch with the enclosed base. Does very well for me and easy to tune. The first thing I did was add Cool Blocks blade guides. I always take the time to retune and adjust the saw before resawing.
  22. I just bought 3 Timber wolf blades, love them. I use the 3/4 for resawing with great success.
  23. Rocky, while I am not a fan of Lowes in any way I did find this set there over a year ago and for me it is perfect. Was not expensive, you may want to check it out.
  24. Thanks Scrapplie
  25. Thanks Jim, my dad tells me the same story, he loves old Ford tractors.
