  1. I cut this Harvey Byler puzzle recently out of poplar using #1&3 pegas blades. The puzzle is rather simple and a quick cut but the person that requested it and the recipient are both very amazing people. We have had the great pleasure of “adopting” 3 young ladies who were Clemson University students several years ago through a program at our church, to give them a home away from home as they attended college. One of the young ladies, Abbey, is now a NICU nurse at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville dedicating her life to helping save babies and young children who have had a difficult start in life. During a recent visit home she requested this puzzle for a baby boy who was born prematurely at 23 weeks. Jacob has spent the first 8 months of his life at the hospital and Abbey was assigned his case. Jacob’s father is a huge tractor fan and decorated his home nursery with all kinds of tractor paraphernalia. This puzzle is a gift to Jacob to celebrate his discharge from the hospital. We wish many blessings on Jacob and Abbey in addition to all the healthcare workers who give their time and passion to serve those in need in hospitals across this great nation.
  2. As usual with you Bernd, that is stunningly gorgeous!
  3. Thank you
  4. Very nice, where did you get the pattern for the backer or the trout brackets?
  5. Paul, that is extraordinarily beautiful. Most excellent work.
  6. You have a tree in your shop?
  7. Iggy has two vette puzzle patterns which you can find here C2 patterns They are challenging to cut but very well done.
  8. Very nice Rocky, surprised how consistent the cherry color is. Very nice work!

  10. Bernd, once again totally awesome. Whenever you post something I tell my wife “the Historian posted again” and she comes to see what wonder you have created and read the history. Always a pleasure, have a blessed Christmas!
  11. Hey Jeff, I got the patterns from my great Uncle who had them in his pattern filing cabinet (which is bursting at the seams). PM me and I will see if I can scan them into a pdf.
  12. My wife and I both contribute, she occasionally likes to come hang out in the shop with me. She has the color sense so she decides on the color palates and I just obey like a good husband
  13. This combination has been very popular this Christmas. The wreath is a part of a Steve Good pattern and is cut from 3/4 poplar. The Merry Christmas is an Alex Fox design although I cut the back layer out of 1/2 poplar to give it some heft and help it stand up more easily. The other two layers are 1/8 bb ply. Most have sold unpainted as customers wanted to get creative. This set was painted upon request. The combination came about as an idea from my wonderful wife who put them together after I cut sample pieces for her. They are all cut on my Pegas with #3 mgt blades. Be blessed.
  14. Hey Rocky, each ornament represents one of the days from the 12 days of Christmas song, A partridge in a pear tree, 5 golden rings.......
  15. A last minute cut of the 12 days of Christmas ornaments. I stack cut 4 of each ornament out of bb ply using a #3 Pegas mgt blade. These were pretty fun. Enjoy and be blessed this Christmas season.
  16. It is a quarter Kevin. Be blessed!
  17. Scrappile is genius, so glad your back!
  18. Thank you for the kind words. Rocky, I estimate I have about 16 hours in and still have two to assemble.
  19. This an Alex Fox design. I had a printer snafu when I printed, I guess converting A4 to US letter and everything shrunk down a tiny bit but a few adjustments and it came out well. Backer is Cherry veneer ply, baltic birch for the light layers and cherry hardwood for the ornament backers. Finished it up with Danish Oil. I stack cut the pattern so I have three done. This was a challenging cut at times but quite enjoyable. One of the three is heading to my granddaughters to start the countdown.
  20. Thanks Tom
  21. Thanks Dan
  22. I was also curious on this Rocky and saw you can refill cartridges and just substitute Red. My concern is unless I can dedicate that printer to just patterns what happens when I slide a black cartridge in, do I get colored smudges. May need to experiment.
  23. I am working on a multilayer Alex Fox design. I am considering use CA with the Accelerator to afix two layers together. However I then intend to dip the unified pieces into Danish Oil. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge to know if the accelerant will impact the absorption of the oil? I know it will not hurt the glue joint but don’t want any negative finish issues. Thanks in advance.
  24. Thanks to all for the suggestions. Yes I know mdf has drawbacks but so do many other things in life. Be blessed.
