  1. Thanks Frank, my son did the design for me. I was very happy with how it came out..
  2. Thanks Dick
  3. Thanks Rocky
  4. My lovely wife had a custom branding iron made for me with a secondary logo I use for my little woodworking hobby. My main logo has too much minute detail for the iron maker to recreate well. The iron works great to burn in my logo on some of my larger pieces. I am still playing around try to figure out the proper burn time and pressure but it will come. I came up with the idea of cutting out the burn for a wooden “business card” if you will to hand out at shows and fairs. Sort like the idea and the cost is minimal as I can use scrap. The finished product is 2 inch diameter a bit larger than a poker chip. Comments welcome.
  5. I use this Dewalt chair and really like it. It is available online many places. Dewalt Shop Chair
  6. Looks like the bridge keeper in Monty Pythons Holy Grail. If you tell people that is who it is you might have to make more! What’s the airspeed of an unladen sparrow?
  7. Namuolie, very nice, excellent work. I love the use of different wood.
  8. I just remove the blade and run my chainsaw file over the teeth to buff them back to sharpness. I am guessing I can get 5 years from a single blade, heck my file Might run flat first.
  9. Rocky is right, you’re nuts but may I join you? Where did you get the pattern?
  10. Thanks for all the kind words. I sent my dad a few pictures and he loved it, so much in fact he asked for two more for his riding buddies. Hi ho hi ho back to the shop I go!
  11. Like many others I had time in the shop today and cut this H. Byler design for my 82 years young dad who still rides when the weather is nice. Cut from poplar it took me several hours and about the time I finished the wheel detail it occurred to me it would have MUCH. Easier if I had spiral blades. Cut with MGT #1 and #3.
  12. It is poplar, sadly it had a bit of cup the length of the board so it took a bit of prep work. Great day.
  13. Those are some lucky birds!
  14. Don that is genius, I love it. Got me thinking now.
  15. Wow! I really like that. Awesome
  16. Thanks Les! Has been a truly enjoyable day thus far
  17. Thanks Denny, yep sawdust pile rising and saw blade supply going down! We will talk soon
  18. I am retired from Corp America and live out in the woods so this social distancing is not a big change for me. Decided last night to make today a dog day and prepped and laid out 15 HB dogs. So after a cup of coffee this morning I started, far so good, you sort of get into a rhythm. Luckily my daughter just came into the shop with some fresh peanutbutter cookies so I had to take a break. I hope you and your families are all safe and blessed by the Lord.
  19. Actually I am a dog guy but either way not the situation but thanks.
  20. You know what they say about curiosity and cats but here I go. What do those of you who cut portraits or signs glued to backer boards do in regards to the interior cut edges of your piece? For instance, if you cut a sign and stain the front piece and glue it to a colored backer to make your letters or portrait pop, do you stain the pieces cut edges to match the front, paint them the color of the backer board, or just ignore them? I cut this wedding sign and before I remove the template I bean pondering whether to paint the interior cut edges black to match the backer or stain them to match the front. Side note, you will notice the final digit of the year is uncut. This poor couple who have a May wedding pending are having to consider postponing the wedding due the insanity of the Corona virus. I pray for all the poor folks in the same situation, it has to be agonizing to ponder your options with all the work and emotion that went into such a momentous life event. Random thoughts on a rainy Camp Corona day in the shop
  21. Yes, I have cut it and my wife broke one piece as she did some cleanup sanding. There are some delicate areas but as suggested I am going to modify a few vein cuts to allow for more spacing. Still love the pattern.
  22. Thanks Iggy, I am donating this puzzle to a local equine therapy farm a friend runs for their annual fund raising auction. They focus on helping veterans with PTSD and kids with Autism through interaction and riding of horses. They have asked me to cut a couple more.
  23. Cut this one this afternoon, quite challenging. I had to spend some time shading in the pattern drop outs to help me make sure and cut it correctly. 3/4 poplar, has not been dipped in finish yet. These puzzles are very Stave like.
  24. BRAVO!
  25. Trackman those are incredible, well done!
