-
simply stunning!!! your wife is indeed a lucky woman
-
beautiful! I envy all you people who can make your own patterns!!! The best i can do is take parts from different patterns and put them together to make something new lol
-
yes im sure she was lol but like you i keep plugging away and just enjoy doing the crafts... spike keeps telling me i should simply work on just one project at a time. Right now im sewing 2 reglious playmats....crocheting graphed dish/wash rags, as well as winter hats and i have 2 knob doors and windos to sand and then finish not sure how im going to do that... leave them unstained unpainted or stain or paint them some small knob compound cuts to cut out as well as as a folder full of patterns ready to put on wood. now if i just had the energy to do it all!! lol iv found a ton of things to make for people for christmas and since i am so slow these days im starting early lol

nice peaces i espically like mingo....iv always love that show.

Thanks guys. Yes i had a great time with my grandson and i think he did a good job cutting, espically since this was only the second time hes used a scroll saw. I got him one for christmas but his folks still havent gotten it set up for him....where he can use it. so of course im not real happy about that. they did say there going to bring him out once a month to stay with us for a few days here and there so he can use mine. still trying to decide what i want to make next

beautiful work, I still dont do the crafting like i did before my mom passed. she was my worse best critic...when she said it was well done I KNEW i had done a good job. she would inspire me and give me tips on howto make what ever i was doing better. i still miss her. I have found however that thinking about her when i do crafting gives me a warm feeling and i strive to make my work something she would like. but this of course took time...its been 6 years since she left us. condolences on your lost. perhaps putting yourself and your friend into your work will help you deal with your pain until the wounds heal a bit.

i dont know if it has anything to do with age or not but iv noticed the same thing. It seems to take me a lot longer to do a project then it used and like you i keep thinking i used to make better looking things and more impressive things back in my 20s 30s the ex would come home and tell me hed entered us in a craft fair for the weekend and id have to wip up a bunch of new stuff for it. He never wanted to take all the same kinds of things we took to the last one. somehow i managed to clean my house cook dinner from scratch and take care of 3 small children while still manageing to get at least one new box of projects done. I was always in the shop...these days it takes me a day just to trace some patterns and put them on wood let alone cut anything out. my mom used to tell me we slow down a bit as we get older...maybe thats it. what ever the reason im just glad i can do my crafts again

well for some reason i cant long into the fourms menue. I can get in every where else it seems just not into the section forum and its list of rooms.... I wanted to ask a question i put oxpey resin on the dragon house sign awhile ago and it was fine. well since we dont have a way to hang it yet i put it on the enclosed front pouch so it was out of the way and nothing would happen to it. well i was in the front pouch watering plants and i noticed it had slid a little bit off the table now when i picked it up to readjust it i discovered it was sticky....on both sides.... it wasnt sticky when i put it in there. we've had a bit of a cold spell the last few days here but it dosnt seem to me like cold would make it sticky,,,,wouldnt getting to hot do that? we brought it back into the warm part of the house in hopes that that will fix the problem. even if it dosnt it still looks good so when we get the pole or what ever hes decided to use to hang it with we will just hang it anyway. was just courious if this has happened to any one else. im keeping busy but havent been abale to put any pictures up yet because i had to sand the armor of God dolls back down to the wood and im repainting them. i had tried to put the left over expoxy resin on them but they didnt come out very well and i didnt have enough expoxy resin to do the backs. i repainted the arms face and hands of the boys and will start on the pants and shirts when those dry and now i have to go see if i can find the pattern for them so i can trace the faces back onto them to paint. im also waiting for the cnc machine to warm up as paul says im ready to try to cut out a circle.....i'll get everything all set up but BEFORE i turn the machine on to cut i'll leave paul a message letting him know the settings i have input and a picture of the cnc machine and the wood and see if things are set up correctly....im so excited!!! lol and of course i still have like 4 things i have to sand and put backers on lol sorry i cant look at everyones projects but i still cant get into fourms i had to his the notifacation bell to get in here

well im sure your all enjoying this lovely break from, espically since i just cant seem to stay on topic!!! i know i know im working on it lol but i have been busy doing my crafts .... I have all 3 of the little boy Armor Of God and there sutes of armor all done. We even made a base for each one so we can screw the boys onto there bases so they will stand. All I have to do now is put the magnets on the armor and the boys....im just trying to figure out how to make sure i put the magnets in the right place so when you put the armor on the boy it will sit where its suppose to. so they look right when you put them on. im sure theres an easy logicl way to do it i just havent figured it out yet..the main one is the helemt the cloths will pretty much fit regardless of where i put the magnet but i have to get the magnet on the head and the helment right so it looks like the boy is wearing it and its not to high up or so low down that it covers up his face. I also have 2 peices done and waiting for there backing, then i have one fret peice cut out and one on the saw to finish cutting out. nothing as elaberite as you guy do, i know i need a better 1/4 in ply to do that. Iv printed out some of the compound cut nobes i got on here so i can get them put on wood to cut out, and iv got to make several knob doors somall ones for the little flower pot and water bottle knob houses im going to make and then some larger ones for the 2 trees outside and the one tree stump. im just trying to figure out how big to make them. Spike will help me with the sizing im sure. sometimes not being able to understand let alone do math is a real pain in the behind!! lol Spike dosnt know it yet but i also have 3 plastic canvas patterns i want him to help me make the template for so i can make them and i have 3 little turtles to get the yarn out for so i can crochet them. Im going to put some compound cut turtles fish and seaweed patterns on the wood to cut out so i can finally get started on my little pretend aquriam. Iv decided to put a few more things in there besides just turtles lol some fish and of course since i have a mermaid compound cut pattern i'll put a couple of mermades in there to. lol asi always say so much to do and so little time in a day to them all!!! and now i must go as spike has food ready to eat!! hes come a long way in 17 years lol he can now take the from scratch food i cook and freeze out of the freezer and heat it up in the microwave lol but he also knows how to cook spiggite noodles lol he always brings me a noodle to test to see if its done but hey hes making progress!! lol which reminds me i have to make potato pancakes and french toast to put up in the freezer and i want to make some agrutin potatos again before it gets hot out... and no i dont freeze that lol i eat it until its gone or give some to my brother and sister. i dont think i'll ever learn to cook for just 2!! lol hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

well eveadently I didnt have enough coffee this morning before putting the expoy resin on my finished projects. I know drinking decaff it shouldnt matter but some how it does lol its a trick your mind kind of thing lol well anyway I made up the expoy resin and i knew right away i made WAY to much but i figured it was ok as i had some other stuff set out to use the left over on. It worked great when i put the expoy resin on the first side of my dragon house sign. now i dont know if it starts setting up faster the more you make but i quickly put it on the second side of the dragon house sign and it went on pretty easly and nicely. Although as i was putting it on i did notice that when i did the first side some of it somehow got on the bottom side and theres some little bumps of expoy resin on the unfinished side . I will have to pratice more i think before puttingi it on anything for selling so this dosnt happen again. but like i said the second side dosnt look bad and i dont think anyone will notice the little bumps of expoy resin on the second side and if some one does notice it and ask me about it i'll just say yes i know i did that on purpuse lol to give it some depth or something lol that has worked wounders on other projects as long as the goof wasnt to bad. lol well like i siad i made way to much expoy resion so i quickly got the 3 armor of God sets i made and starting putting it on those.....like i said it worked great when i id the first side but this time the expoxy resion started to cure a lot faster then it did when i did the first side so it didnt go on as nicely and smoothly as it should have even though i started working faster and faster so that i could get all the peices of all the sets done. now it would have been better if i had done one set at a time so i wouldnt have had to do all the peices, just the one set but of course i didnt do that. we will see how bad they look after they dry. if they look to bad i'll try sanding the resin and paint off and start all over again with the painting and finishing.... if that dosnt work i'll just have to toss them out and start all over again from scratch. i really hate it when i have to do that lol just goes to show no matter how long or how experenced you are in something you can still really mess things up!! lol at least it wasnt food lol most of the time with wood you can easely fix or hid the goof lol. its a little harder with food lol well im off to go see what i can get into next.....spike's doing laundary today so i cant work in the woodshop as thats where the dryer is and hes using the plug i plug the heater in .... although IF it gets as warm as they say it will i might not need it.

Thanks Kevin!! I remembered AFTER i messed up the project that in one of my scroll saw mags it mentioned putting a busness card ,or thin peice of cardboard over the hole to make the 0 clearnce lol but i think an old credit card would be even better!! im sure it will last longer the the cardboard did lol so im working on finishing up the few projects iv been working on and then trying to cut one of the mosaic again. I dont have any 1/8 in wood, as the book suggests 1/8 and 1/4 in wood... so im trying to decided weather to just use 2 peices of 1/4 in for the project or maybe 1/4 in for the backer board or 3/4 inch wood for the peices. I have my first armor of God project cut and painted now i just have to find where i put my magnets so i can add them to the top of the boy and then to the backs of each peace of armor. These will use polyurthine on and i finally finishe carving and painting the compound cuts and there waists. Theres some plant pokes and some i'll make into magnets and the rest i'll set in the finishe box lol these i'll use the left over expoy reisn on after i do the other side of the dragon house sign. I have so many things i want to make!! lol and never enough time to work on them lol Things are getting better again now as i got my bowtox shots on the 1st so can work a little longer on things before i have to stop. Were still waiting on the wheel chair....I have a ton of things i need to get from hobby loby and i cant wait to go to the 2 thrift stores in charllote where i get most of my craft supplys lol I still have to go to my brothers house soon to because hes giving me moms walker and her cane. I dont need them to walk with but walker and the cain have seats on them so i can sit down when i need to. Now that its getting warmer I can use either the walker or the caine to use to take the dogs for short walks around our yard. we have an acer even though were in town.....perfect for the country girl i am and the city boy spike is ....not that the village of bellevue is any where near as big as chicago wherehes from lol and i HAVE to get backtoface book and watch more of that vido on the cnc machine. Icant believe im STILL on the first one...but heyi have more time then anything elselol sorry if some of the words on here on runone...my space bar seems to be sticking and i dont always catch it when it dosnt giveme the space between words like is suppose to...have a great weekend!!!
