  1. Very touching memorial. I'm sure it will be much appreciated by his co-workers and friends.
  2. Awesome as usual Denny. My wife saw these and now is after me to make some!
  3. Congrats Richard! As far as the 16-inch, my WEN is a 16-inch saw and I have cut, in my opinion, some pretty nice pieces using it. I have ordered the 30-inch Pegas and will probably never use that depth of a throat but it will be there if I need it. enjoy your new saw.
  4. Nice grab, Bob. Enjoy you new saw. Still waiting on my to arrive. Ordered in January. Supposed to be delivered in July.
  5. Great job, Ralph. I'm sure she (and her boss) will be pleased.
  6. Welcome to the Village from NC. Be sure to post pics of your student's pictures as long as there is no legal concerns on your end. We really enjoy seeing other's crafts.
  7. Outstanding Tbow!!!
  8. I have the WEN 3922 which I purchased about 2-months before the LL2156 was introduced to the market. It has served me well however there have been some issues. The blower bellows will wear out quickly. The first time it wore out I contacted WEN and they sent me a replacement under warranty. The second time I decided to go with a fish tank bubbler which has taken care of any bellows problems. One of the reasons I went with the 3922 was the design of the blade clamp over the 3921. These clamps will wear out and eventually strip but can be replaced for approximately $5 each. I order them by the dozen directly from WEN. As you would expect, this is an entry level scroll saw. I have ordered a Pegas 30-inch which should arrive in July. I have cut some nice pieces on the 3922 and I will keep it even after my new saw arrives. Steve Good did a video on the LL2156 that you can view from this here:
  9. The quality of your work definitely doesn't show any eye issues. You did a fantastic job!
  10. I don't know if I should congratulate you or send condolences. I feel certain you will be much happier scrolling for your family and yourself. The projects you complete will be much more meaningful. Regardless, I'm glad you'll be sticking around so we can see you great works here at the Village.
  11. I posted this in the Bragg forum but because it has a flower for Mother's Day I thought I'd go ahead and post it with this month's challenge.
  12. I had a total knee replacement done on Monday and all of the pre-surgery necessities put a damper on my cutting. I was able to finish a few, even some I didn't photograph because they were commissions and had shown them in the past. I was trying to get the two Mother's Day pieces (both Steve Good patterns) cut before my surgery but unfortunately I was in the shop today after physical therapy putting on the last touches. The "All I Am" piece went to my mother who is 90 years old. It is cut from 1/4 Birch ply stained natural with a 1/4-inch pine backer painted red except for the greenery of the rose stems. The colors were done with acrylic hobby paint thinned down and sprayed on with an air brush. The "Happy Mother's Day" piece was for the wife and "signed by all the critters" (dogs, cats, fish). And if you didn't know a fish could sign something, there is a pair of lips with bubbles. The heart and letters were again sprayed red with acrylic hobby paint. The backer is stained with Minwax Espresso. The two car pieces were double stacked 1/4-inch Birch from Jim Blume's Americana series #18. They were stained with Minwax Natural. The backers are pine painted black. The frames are cut down from a 1X8 and fit to the piece after staining with Natural. All four projects were sprayed with 4-coats of gloss Clear Acrylic with a light sanding of 500 grit between coats. I hope you enjoy. BTW, the Americana 18 pattern is a relatively easy cut even though it has a substantial number of holes. I hope you enjoy!
  13. Another beauty to add to your collection. Very nice!
  14. I must say, Barb, you sure got it going on! I don't think there is anything you can't produce. Great job!
  15. Steve Good's forum was where I started but there were only a comment or two a week if I were lucky. Next I found the SSW&C but felt as an outsider because I didn't subscribe to their magazine. Then I found the Village and there hasn't been any looking back. Ohhh, I'll check on the other two forums occasionally but to me, Scroll Saw Village is Home! There are several scroll saw groups on Facebook and fortunately the administrators are pretty good about keeping the content to scroll sawing or there abouts. I've noticed a lot of the members of these groups are also Village members. In my humble opinion I believe Scroll Saw Village is the leading place on the internet for like-minded people. If I were restricted to pick only one scroll site, the Village would be my choice.
  16. Stunning!!! That goes well beyond just scrolling.
  17. Beautiful pieces, Wichita! I like the toothpick idea.
  18. Nice cutting!
  19. Really nice, Bill. I'd be proud to hang that on my wall.
  20. Beautiful piece!
  21. Outstanding job, Charlie and I love your "Wall of Stars."
  22. As I was reading your story I was thinking "her luck is almost as bad as mine." My brother could take dog droppings and make money from it whereas I would most likely trip and fall into it face first. The old saying, "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all," definitely applies to me. Does it get better? If it does for you, please let me know. It would give me something to look forward to.
  23. A North Carolina welcome being sent your way and your work looks great. Not sure which of the two I like best because they both are outstand.
  24. Thanks but I found something similar I believe will work. Hope you don't mind me using the quote.
  25. My wife will want some of these for her work mates. She's a teacher. Where is the pattern available?
