Wow, Tbow! You got it going on. You're the master of the boxes as well as the bowls. These pieces show they were done by a true craftsman! Outstanding.
I use the WEN switch which is very low to the ground and doesn't require a lot of movement to activate and release. I also don't have mine on a riser. I don't get fatigued from the switch, in fact it's quite the opposite. I find myself stopping the saw after my foot relaxes too much. But... doesn't your tension lever act as a gear shifter and the piece you're working on is the steering wheel.
I love pieces like this. Outstanding job Dick. It reminds me of some of Jim Blume's American series in the Village library. I'm still working on that series but a couple other projects jumped ahead at the request from the wife.
I've actually got two HF vacs. One slightly larger than the one you have pictured and then I have their big one. I built a cyclone system for the small one and had it hooked to only run when the saw was running. It did pretty well although it was fairly loud. It wasn't a problem because I usually have headphones on listening to books or music. I eventually disconnected it from the saw because I didn't think it starting and stopping that much would cause it to last very long. I've actually had it for about 10-years. I only start it now to vacuum around it after the sawdust builds up. The large one I use for my jointer and planer. I've purchased a cyclone system for it but have to get a container to attach it to. The power on both is pretty strong, especially if you keep the bag empty (small one) or the filter clean (large one).
At the price those sell for I don't think you could really go wrong. I will say they don't put a long enough power cord on them. I actually replaced the cord on my small vac with a larger 50-foot drop cord. I can plug it in now and almost cover my entire shop. Again, I would question connecting it to an on/off switch to run with the saw. I'm not sure that many starts and stops in a short amount of time is really good for it. It would be ideal to vacuum after dust buildup or cleaning your car.
Congrats, Don. I wish my wife would become interested and want to participate in the craft. Currently she is into dog training and hopes to get the final degree on our oldest dog and then she starts all over again with our newest dog. Oh well, I must say it is peaceful out in my shop.
I'm sure you'll enjoy you new saw. Maybe Penny will let you use it occasionally.
Wow, they have a bunch of Grand Masters. Apparently they are giving them to those in the past and in the future. Anyway, great job, Barb. And regardless of what they do with them, you filled the order!
I ordered the Pegas-30 from Denny. Originally I was told it would be here in March. I followed up with Denny and he contacted someone who now says it will be July.
That's was the purpose of super glue when it was invented. I bleed like a stuck hog when I nick myself also due to the meds I'm on. Glad you got it stopped before you bled to death.
