  1. Nicely done! Congrats on the sells!
  2. Great job on both pattern and cutting, Charlie. I agree with Berry. I've always thought she was a babe!!! Of course, I enjoyed listening to her music also.
  3. Looks like a genius at work to me!
  4. I also purchased one for my floor drill press and it worked pretty good. I will exaggerate bit wobble if the arbor and bit are slightly off center. I have now gone to the Dremel tool with the plunge router attachment. It works much like the Seyco Scroller's Drill. I've heard a few say you can break a bit using my setup because of the play in the plunge router but I haven't experienced that. I try to keep the plunger shafts on the router attachment lubed and when I press down to drill the hole, I always use both hands on the router to make sure I'm pressing straight.
  5. Another nice piece, Tbow. Great choice with the "Old" oak. I'm sure cutting 7/8 of that old oak was a bit of a chore.
  6. Awesome job.
  7. Nice project, Dan. I like your pattern design as well as how you stained your pieces. Great job!
  8. Nice work, Barb, and I hope you do well at your February event.
  9. Welcome from North Carolina. Looks like you've picked up scrolling pretty well according to the cuts you have pictured. You may want to try a couple Steve Good patterns. He has thousands to choose from but I suggest some of the basic ones until you get the hang of cutting patterns. Scroll Saw Workshop Catalog (stevedgood.com If you really fill frisky, check out some of the patterns in the Scroll Saw Village library. You'll find anything from basic to very complicated there. We really enjoy see other scroller's work so don't forget to post pictures. Happy scrolling and don't hesitate to ask questions. There is a lot of knowledge in this forum.
  10. I've always referred to them as Killdeer also. We have bunches around my property during the summer. They'll build their nests in the darndest places. Fortunately they are low to the ground and the mower will go over them without damaging the nest. Great picture and cutting, by the way. Looks like you're making good use of that rough-cut wood. Makes for nice pieces.
  11. Very nice work. I especially like the vases.
  12. What a great way to honor your father-in-law! You did a fantastic job on the framing.
  13. I've thought about cutting this pattern many times but skipped over it to go to something else. You've convinced me... I've got a few ahead of it but it's going on my list. Great cutting, by the way. I like the roughness of the wood as well as the grain.
  14. Posted!!! Will add more later.
  15. You've definitely mastered the bowls, Denny. Another great job.

Lots of detail work there. The cuts are very uniform. Great job!
  17. I'm on the wrong side of the world to help out but I'm sure you could purchase a hand scroll saw for very little cost, even if you had to order one. Hope you find what you're looking for.
  18. Everything I cut is stack cut using 1/4-inch ply. I only stack cut 2 pieces. I've found stacking 3 poses a bit of a problem with the deviation of the blade when pressing through a cut. If you do stack cut three, you have to slow your cuts and let the blade "catch up" especially on sharper turns. The largest I've stack cut is 14X21 and I didn't have any problems, even on my 16-inch saw. I typically use spiral blades and tend to use a smaller blade than typical. (between 2/0 and 1) Like Clayton said, if you used 1/8 ply, you could probably get away with triple stack without any problems. Good luck.
  19. Excellent job as usual, Frank. You nailed the painting.
  20. Outstanding work, Tbow. I'm sure he will love it. What is the wood on the ends.
  21. Great job, Ralph. I'm sure your grandchildren will love them.
  22. Awesome! You've put a lot of work into that!
  23. Great job, Paul. And I agree that those who served giving their time, and sometimes their life, never receive the gratitude they deserve. Thanks to all the veterans on SSV that served.
  24. Nice piece, Alan. Just curious, how was it cutting through the cutting board? Did you notice it being hard or have any problems with the butted joints?
  25. Very nice bowl, Denny. I'm sure cutting took some time also. Thirteen layers plus the bottom. But your time and effort paid off with beautiful results.
