Hi Joe, and welcome to the Village from Colorado. I got interested in scrolling from my Father-in-law and his work using the band saw and my brother-in-law who was a scroller. Like you I purchased scroll saw magazines from the book store, and like you I was working full time. Doing little things, prmarily people names, and attending and attending craft fairs. not as a vendor, but as a customer. After I retired I did a little more scrolling, then found this site. Boy, the folks here really opened my eyes. As I said, welcome to the Village. Jerry

Here you go Bernd, a picture of the original I found on the internet. I think it was made primarely from walnut, but the back looks like plywood, if they had plywood back in the 1880's

Nice to see you back Bernd. I missed seeing your posts. You did a great jobe on these and the cars. I haven't been scrolling lately because I refinishing an old mantel clock that my mother had. It was built sometime around 1890. My mother got it in the early 40's. She painted it pink when pink was really popular in the early 50's. What a job. Been working on it pretty much full time for the past month. I happy I don't refinish furniture for a living. When I'm finished I will post it. Have to go in for surtery next week. Hopefully I won't be down for long. Oh, forgot to mention the clock still works. Hopefully it still ticks when I'm finished. Jerry
