  5. Last year first year I tried these. All were gone in a few days to family and friends. Made some more this year. Took to my dentist office for hygienist. She took a couple and showed them to other office workers. When I left an hour later they were all gone. Other neighbors have asked my to make some more. Here is my lastest contribution. Houses are made from pine, poplar, and oak. Houses are stained with ipswich pine, golben pecan, cherry, and gunstock. Birds are made from pine, poplar, oak, zebrawood, and mahogony. All are then spayed with Rust-Oleum rattle spray can clear gloss. Hope you are not tired of seeing mini-birdhouses. Jerry
  6. Well Tyler, you did it again. Enjoyed the video. One of your sayings is "Think outside the box.". That is something I have to learn to do. I need to remember the wood the pattern designer used is only a suggestion. So many of your videos show you using wood you have on hand or what one can purchase at our big box stores. Today, for example, you used construction grade plywood. It doesn't have to be exotic. Thanks again for the video. Jerry
  7. So many of Village members can make anything out of a piece of wood. Boy what an imagination. I think some of you can make anything out of a rock. What a neat idea Dan. Jerry
  8. Hi Pete, Welcome to the village from Colorado. You going to enjoy and learn from the folks here. When I first enrolled I spent a lot of time reading old posts. Learned a lot. Jerry
  9. Welcome from Colorado. Addictive hobby and addictive site. Jerry
  10. I live close to traffic too, I've just learned to ignore it. Unless you go into the wilderness you are not going to get away from traffic. I see you retired from the Air Force. I wish I would have stayed in. Jerry
  11. Boy, I can see lots of hours on this. Takes me back to my younger years and growing up on the farm. Very nice Kris, very nice. Jerry
  12. That is really nice Charlie. When I go for a walk in the mornings I do not have my phone in my ear, I enjoy the sounds of the birds, squirrels, and yes even the sound of the leaves rustling in the breeze. Jerry
  13. Nicely done Marg and congratulations on 1st place. Jerry
  14. That's neat Frank. Enjoy you story. Jerry
  15. Joe, I think it is really neat that you were asked to do a demostration of the scroll saw. Don't see those any more. At one time, years ago, you could attend home shows where there may be a demostartion of scroll saws, mosthly I remember seeing RBI having a booth. I recall too once seeing a scroll saw demo at a lunber yard. Even craft fairs would have 2 or 3 scroll saw booths set up. Don't see those anymore. Anyway, to cut a long story short, that is how I became interested in scroll sawing. Needless to say, my first scroll saw was a RBI because that is mostly saw. Jerry
  16. Hate to see you go, keep in touch. Where did you get the pattern? Jerry
  17. WOW, those are really nice Bernd. I've missed seeing your posts. Where can I get the pattern for these. Jerry
  18. WOW Frank, you did it again. Jerry Thanks for the update on hurricane Milton. Glad all is OK with you and your loved ones. I'm certain some of our SSV members did not fair as well. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all.
  19. Thanks for sharing. Jerry
  20. I see this pattern being used so many times. Guess I going to have to try it. Ron, some of the members here, including you, really know how to use material you find and what it can do to a projuect. For me, unless it is a peice of wood, I don't know what to do with it. Your display is really cool. Jerry
  21. Tyler, I have never wanted to do intarsia scrolling, but after viewing this video I may have to give it a try. It all looked too complicated to me. It's a way down the road, but maybe someday. Again, I always enjoy your videos. Jerry
  22. Very nice Joe. Are you going to give them to your friend? Jerry
  23. WOW Barb. very nice. Every time I look at it I see a little owl that is a brat. I love it, I'm certain your niece will cherish if forever. Jerry
  24. Looks like you have a good start for the show Peter. Hopefully everything will sell. All looks very good. Jerry
  25. WOW Joe, that is really nice. You should enter that in some kind of contest. That is a real winner. Jerry
