  1. My go to blade for this type of cutting is the Pegas #6 super skip. I have also tried the FD Polar with good results. Jerry
  2. WOW!! That is cool. Jerry
  3. I too have had both eyes done 2 years ago. Dr. told me just to use readers, never worked for me. It seems every time I sat at my scroll saw I needed a higher power reader. That along with having glasses all over the house I couldn't find one when I needed one. Didn't need glasses for driving but did had trouble seeing dashboard clearly. At my last appointment I asked my Dr. if I could have prescriptions. Said sure, I'm now happy with scrolling and driving.
  4. Oh Barry, give it to your friend. I think your cutting is great. Your friend will cherish it since you personalized it with the tail number of his dad's plane. Don't be so rough on yourself. Jerry
  5. That really looks nice Matt. Jerry
  6. I went to a small school, most of us kids were farm kids, and most of us could play sports because there was barely enough to make a team. Our shcool did'nt have a weight room. For most of us lifting the bales, 100 pound sack of potatoes or for the kids living on a dairy farm they got to lift those 10 gallon cans full of milk. We got quite a workout, especially in the summer.
  7. Hi Allen, welcome to the Village from Colorado. Many knowledgeable people here and all are willing to help. While you are new here take some time to navigate the system and to read past posts. You will learn a lot from these old posts. Learning is a continuing process, so continue to learn from the folks here. Jerry
  8. Hey Syd, you're really getting good at this. Very nice. Jerry
  9. Ray, I took piano lessons for 8 years and I hated every minute of it. Always wanted to play the accordion and at 15 Mom and Dad got me one. I loved it. Sold it when I got married, biggest mistake I ever made. After I a few years I wanted to buy one, wife wouldn't let me. She hated the accordion. Jerry
  10. I grew up on the farm. Love tractors. My dad had 3 of therm, two John Deeres and one Ford. I learned to drive the Ford when I was about 5 sitting on my day's lap and he let me guide it. At about 6 1/2 I could drive it by myself. At 7 I was working out in the field. Wouldn't go over so good today. Jerry
  11. Looks like I could walk into it. Very nice Kris. Jerry
  12. I believe it was done by the title of your posting. "SOME OF GOD'S WORK". Jerry
  13. Boy Chas, your intro described me to a "T". I was the same way till I joined. I joined 3 years ago and I have learned sooooo much from the kind folks here. Welcome to SSV. Jerry from Colorado.
  14. I'm jealous. How in the world do you do that. If you were my neighbor, I would be camped out at your doorstep. Jerry
  15. WOW Syd, you knocked this one out of the park. Goes to show one can find good wood in all kinds of places. Again, very, very nice. Jerry
  16. Boy Seth, you came to the right place. Lot of knowledgeable folks here and they are still learning. Welcome to the club. Jerry, from Colorado
  17. Wow Dick, this is great. Considering your grandson's interest in WWI I'm certain this will hold a special place in his heart for a long time, especially since his grandpa made it especially for him. Jerry

  21. I didn't know bits came in letter sizes or that they even existed. At 84 I'm still learning. Thanks Bob. Jerry
  22. Bod, I have what might be a stupid question. I think I know but need you to tell me. How do you enlarge the hole with the smaller bits? When I need dowel I will take the project with me to make sure the dowel will fit into the hole. I have a good supply of dowels that are just a tad to large. I have also tried to sandpaper the dowels to the right size but they always end up lopsided. Result is a bumpy ride. Jerry
  23. Well said. Jerry
  24. I really like it. Jerry
