  1. I look forward to every Monday morning to see what the video is for today. I have to tell you, sometimes while I am cutting and run into a problem, I ask myself "How would Tyler do this?". I usually pick up some tip or trick, and sometimes it's just entertainment. Always a joy. Jerry
  2. That is really nice Dick. I'm sure your granddaughter will be very pleased with it. In my younger years my wife and I would attend the National Western Stock show, and the crowd would really cheer on the barrel racers. Was always exciting. Jerry
  3. Welcome to the Village Dave. Scroll sawing can be very addictive, as I'm certain you are beginning to find out. This site is also very addictive. As others have said, don't be afraid to ask questions. Folks here are very helpful. Jerry
  4. This is amazing Paul. I really like it. Jerry
  5. I always like how you encourage us to think outside the box. Example, using the frame from this project to use in different projects. Jerry
  6. Welcome to the forum Doug. We are anxious to get to know you. Folks here are willing and able to help any way they can. Jerry from Colorado
  7. There's nothing like PUTZING Jerry
  8. I signed up again. Now working. Thanks Barb. Jerry
  9. I have just one word Kris, WOW Jerry
  10. Welcome to the Village from Colorado. From the looks of your picture, you are already a pro. Jerry
  11. That is really nice. I used to receive Steve's emails every morning. I no long do. I wonder why. Jerry
  12. Wow Barb, that is great. Growing up I belonged to 4H. My first project was a pig. I was about 8 years old. She was gentle. Thanks for renewing a memory for me. Jerry
  13. Welcome from Colorado. Great for you getting back in the swing. As Dan said set small goals for yourself. And making a little bit of sawdust improves your spirits. You will find folks here very helpful. Jerry
  14. Happy that you are back. Jerry
  15. Nicely done Paul. I'm with you on spending less time on the saw. The heart and mind want to, but the body says no. I never thought I would get to this point. Jerry
  16. They just keep getting better and better and better. Jerry
  17. Those look really nice Denny. Jerry
  18. Been a while since I've posted anything. After doing the refinishing of an antique clock, which took me half the summer, I thought I would back into the swing of things. So, I picked a project that would be simple, at least I thought it would be simple. SIMPLE, it was not. Was about 140 inside cuts, and those were the killer. But, I did get through it. I did find out I hadn't lost my touch. It is about 16 inches long and 6 inches high at its highest point. I used 3/4-inch poplar. I got the idea to do this after seeing @artisanpirate videos. Thanks, Tyler, for telling me where you got the pattern. Now, need to get ready for Christmas. Jerry

  20. First, David, you hit the nail on the head- practice, practice, practice. I agree with you that most of what you find on you tube is people showing their skills and not teaching. There are some that are pretty good and give good tips. Will have to get back to you on that. And blades, so many to choose from, but you will find the ones you like best. One of our members, Denny Knappen, sells Pegas blades and he can help you a lot. And then the folks here are very helpful. You will enjoy your stay here. When I first joined, I spent many hours going through the posts here. You will soon find out this site and scrolling can and will become very addictive. Welcome to Scroll Saw Village. Jerry from Colorado
  21. Thanks for your response Richard. I'll have to give it a try. From what you said the danish oil will give it a glossy shine. I think my Ace hardware carries it. Jerry
  22. @rafairchild2 you said "My one regret is using the minwax poly. I think it looks too thick, I was going for high shine. I will go back to Danish Oil." What kind of danish oil to you use. There are so many out there including Watco- but isn't Watco a stain. I'm curious, would like to give it a try. Jerry
  23. Was happy to see your posting this morning. Missed you. Hope you and your wife are both at 100% soon. Great cutting on the chess set. Some day will have to give Danish oil a try. I see many villagers use it. Welcome back. Jerry
  24. Welcome to the Village Gary. You will find the folks here very helpful. Jerry from Colorado.
