  1. Yep. We saw antifreeze freeze solid in the can at -52.
  2. How unique! Great idea..
  3. I have some small countersink bits without the drill bit, that can fit in a hand held device. Might work on the underside.
  4. Where in Alaska are you? Courtesy of the USAF, I spent some time in Anchorage and Fairbanks. Both in the summer and winter. We saw -52 one winter in Fairbanks. Was in Anchorage for the quake, too. Helped clean up from the Tsunami that hit Seward.
  5. Any one ever play around with a product called Gallery Glass? Saw some really neat effects on YouTube. I'll be trying some soon.
  6. No picture
  7. Hope your sales take off!
  8. They're both really nice, Dick. Masks are a hassle, for sure. But, we want you to keep breathing so we can see you at the next Bent Prop gathering.
  9. Very nicely done, Dick. I'll bet they hang it with pride.
  10. My Shopsmiths don't lend themselves to infeed or outfeed tables so, roller stands it is. I love my 'smiths but, sometimes they're a royal PITA.
  11. Some say spirals are hard to control. Looks like you've mastered it.
  12. I'm with you 100% on that purposeful thing. Although, making things of beauty for beauty's sake has it's rewards.
  13. Thanks, Marie. I THINK I have it.
  14. Very nice, Frank. And, thanks a lot for the procedural details.
  15. Excellent!!! Could you please describe your interesting dovetail process. I mortice the top of the box for the hinges. Usually, deep enough for both leaves. That keeps them straight.
  16. You can say that again! I'm a great fan of mesquite lumber. Mine comes directly off the mill. Lots of worm holes and other surface imperfections. Normally, resin with (usually)crushed turquoise fills those holes. But, often just colored resin is used. Depending on the project's intended use, after filling the surface voids, it'll get either an oil based poly coating or, a flood coat, or two, of clear epoxy. I've yet to use epoxy on anything smaller than a bread box. It's usually slabs of coffee table size. But, filling those holes is likely akin to using it on fret work. I've tried several brands but, Total Boat is a clear favorite.
  17. You don't give dimensions for that sweet little box but, from the shape, I'm guessing it's an index card file box. An excellent cutting job on the box joints. And, your sign is Really nice. Your use of reverse slanted lettering is unique and eye catching. What is that font?
  18. Amazing cutting! Thanks for the finishing info, too.
  19. So true. One of these days, I intend to cut a boar Javelina in a desert scene. Javelina are in no way an example of nature's beauty.
  20. Our HD, Lowes and local hardwood suppliers carry poplar ply in 4X8X5mm sheets.
  21. Definitely # 1. Or, most certainly # 2.
  22. Nice cutting, Frank.
  23. I use a pair of magnetized sewing machine lights. One on each side eliminates shadows. For a magnifier, I really like this one. https://a.co/d/faHL9am. Being worn on my head, there's little need for viewing adjustment.
  24. Good looking plane, Dick. The round overs are a definite improvement.
