  1. Irene, that is amazing! Very nice cutting. What blade(s) did you use? How in the world did you manage to hold it down flat to the table?
  2. Quite true. However, the Shopsmith 6X48 belt sander, when used, is fitted with a shop vac hose.
  3. You didn't stick with it? How tacky.
  4. Absolutely fantabulous, Marie.
  5. same here.
  6. My "carving" is done with a rotary tool or a router. I tried chip carving. Not for me. I like cutting tools that go buzzzz.
  7. Very nice, Dick. They'll hang it with pride and think of you each time they pass it.
  8. Just a thought. How about applying a sanding sealer to the plywood before the pattern?
  9. Aha. My DW 788 just has the tension ring thingie. No levers.
  10. What am I missing? I never change tension unless I'm changing blades. I do release tension after a session. My sessions are short. Saw a bit, do something else and, come back.
  11. I just asked Denny for the Pegus clamps for the 788.
  12. New Pegus clamps for my DW 788 sure make it easier to install the blades. And, no blade slippage, either. Lots of folks seemed to think they wouldn't make a difference but, they were wrong. They're lighter than the originals, saw seems to run smoother/quieter. I got the saw used but nearly new. With the new clamps, I think it's ready to work.
  13. I was not aware that turners were prone to prevarication. Although, my turning BIL certainly did lie to me about his sister's rosy disposition.
  14. I think I might do a dog with the letters spelling CAT. at my skill level, you couldn't tell the difference, anyway.
  15. I can't decide. They're both really nice.
  16. There are many sizes, from 12mm up, on etsy
  17. Their work stations are probably not too close to a Timmy's. Going in one always cheers me up.
  18. OK, I won't ask, but I'm still curious.
  19. For the life of me, I cannot understand the pettiness of some of the border folks at the US/Canada border. And I mean on BOTH sides. Even with all the drug traffic, we have less hassles going in and out of Mexico.
  20. That's really pretty. The colors are great.
  21. Well, I've been selecting the slabs with the most holes because of the non scrolling projects I use it for. Like to use colored epoxy and stones. But, the yard where I buy it has a lot of better slabs, too. The guy is pretty accommodating and would cut what's needed. Might even be able to get some cut at 1/4. But, I can always re saw.
  22. Great idea but, how do you thin the epoxy?
