  1. Thanks, Don. I probably should have used Inkscape and modified the font. Too late, now. Live and learn.
  2. Here ya go, Witchita.
  3. Beautiful cutting and wonderful sentiment.
  4. Holes. Pics later.
  5. I'm cutting a sign pattern with an unknown font where each letter is in several different pieces. Sorta looks like a painting template. This is my first attempt at any lettering. The sign reads "MY KITCHEN MY RULES" with some other art work. A knife, fork, spoon and a loaf of bread. I didn't count the holes but each letter requires at least 3. Plus the artwork. Sure glad I installed the Lifter on the DW 788. It's really getting a workout. Even so, I don't think I'll be doing any, more intricate, stuff any time soon. I'm using 3/4 poplar and #7 MGTs. At any rate, when another project requires lettering, I'll certainly be more choosy about the font. A great impetus to start designing my own.
  6. I've seen some of your work, Roberta. I'm sure it will be better than mine.
  7. Thanks, JT! I got it.
  8. Thanks a bunch!! I'd considered trying it free hand but, as a novice, I'm more comfortable with a pattern.
  9. Thanks, but I don't seem to be able to find them. Got a link?
  10. I finally resorted to installing the Lifter from Papa's Workshop. It's really handy.
  11. Looks like you got the hang if it, too me.
  12. JT, I guess I'm not too computer literate. I can't find that pattern on Steve's site. Could you possibly post a link? Many thanks.
  13. Thanks, Dick. Others have been pretty mundane. Nothing too intricate. I'm still in the learner stage. Slow, too.
  14. Is there such a thing as a generic jig saw pieces pattern that can be used on any picture?
  15. Yeah. It's sure handy.
  16. Great! Enjoy.
  17. Thanks for the correction, Joe.
  18. It works very well. If you want one, go to poppasworkshop.org and check out his installation video. It's real easy to install.
  19. Just finished installing The Lifter on my DW 788. Got a sign project with about 40 holes. That Lifter is going to be right handy. I can throw that block of ply in the scrap bin.
  20. I found a arts and crafts sales outlet that rents 10 each 18X18X10 cubbies for $30 per month. Plus, if you provide pics, they post them on their Facebook site. No long term contracts. Just month by month. Might give them a shot closer to Christmas.
  21. Sorry, I can't remember. But you can PM me with your address and I can mail you the pattern.
  22. Must be the case for me, then. I don't use Watco as a final finish anyway. It always gets a few coats of shellac or poly. My main use is the dark walnut flavored Watco and, usually on walnut or mesquite. No one has ever commented on any objectionable odor. And, I'm sure my customers are not all smokers.
  23. I usually let it cure for 72 hrs or so. In our AZ heat, that's plenty. Then, top coat. On boxes...not scrolled... my last coat gets a wax job applied with Libron steel wool. Makes a smooooothe touchable finish.
  24. Is it Watco? My experience with it is that after 3 days or so, the odor will dissipate.
  25. Don't monarchs migrate? There's a canyon in far south AZ where they gather on their way to Mexico. It's quite a sight if your lucky enough to be there when they are.
