    Hello

Welcome! Side note: You have to be really committed to cut your finger off with a scroll saw.
  2. Those look really great and now you have given me more ideas for new projects! Thanks! I have had really good results using TransTint dyes on my projects. They come in about 18 colors and you can mix colors to get others. The dye also allows the grain to show through.
  3. Welcome. Also from OKC here. GIMP is a good program, I would also suggest downloading Inkscape (also a free program). I use GIMP when I want to convert a picture into a scrollable pattern, and Inkscape I primarily use to create patterns from scratch. Have fun!
  4. Hide glue is a good choice.
  5. Very nice work. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Very nice, and I like that it is completely done by hand. Thank you for sharing.
  7. That is beautiful!
  8. Looks great Don.
  9. Great job Denny!
  10. Welcome from Oklahoma! We're glad you're here.
  11. Great work! I really like the frame!
  12. Yeah, I always tell students in my class that you have to be really committed to cut your finger off with a scroll saw.
  13. Nice work, but I have to disagree with RJ.
  14. Excellent work!
  15. Steve Good has a few Celtic patterns, not many but on the upside they are free.
  16. Yeah Bloodwood is not terrible for most people but you may just be one of the few it affects in that way. I have friend that had never had any problems with any species, until he got his hands on Zebrawood. He has severe reaction just touching it. Have you tried Redheart or Padauk?
  17. Very nice work Frank
  18. very nice!
  19. Very good work
  20. I agree with Bill. MDF would be the way to go.
  21. Welcome! I too live in OKC. I have looked at the Bauer saw and thought about getting one. Seems like a good saw, but I have a Dewalt 788 currently, which is also a great saw so I cannot justify buying a new one right now. Have fun with your woodworking journey!
  22. I agree with Bill. Dye is definitely the way to go. You can make the color as intense or as pale as you want. Plus, as he said, the woodgrain shows through accents the color nicely.
  23. Welcome from Oklahoma! You're going to enjoy that Dewalt. Nice saw.
  24. Yep I like the light as well. Makes the colors pop better than the dark.
  25. Glad to see that the Pegas holders will fit. It is making me lean more toward this saw.
