  1. Job well done. I spend more time looking through my cut- offs than I do making stuff.
  2. I also have have been in "a bit of a creative funk lately". Maybe the winter? This has been the coldest winter that I have seen in Central North Carolina since I moved here in 2003. We even had 2 snow fall's, prior to that I have seen one other snows....of course the snow cover was gone the next day. The last few day's we had some spring type weather and I did some "shop work" and the "funk" has decreased!
  3. Some time back I had miter saw and upgraded to a had a HF ADMIRAL 12 in. Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw and like it. But really didn't need the double bevel feature. Then I thought I would upgrade and get a Dewalt 12" double bevel miter saw with the stand, and loved it. But still didn't need the double bevel nor the stand. Well a couple years back, and many tool purchases later I looked at my small shop and was I running out of room. So I sold the DeWalt miter saw, my lathe and purchased a 10" Metabo single bevel saw a good scroll saw, and banked the money difference. The Metabo was accurate out and box but I still don't need the bevel feature. I don't miss the lathe and it's just less tools my kids had to sell when I pass. They have more "stuff" than I ever had. So that is my story and I'm sticking with it. LOL
  4. I am confused! I thought that if you paid for the pattern you could make that item and/or sell that item. Or course you can not copy and sell the pattern. So please explain,
  5. I also change the thickness all the time. Some times it for effect or look that I want...some time it's because that is what I have. I also change size of the object many times.
  6. Guess I am the odd person here! I have tried the foot switch and just don't find a need for it.
  7. Is this for just the ultra reverse blades or is this for all REVERSE blades? I always wondered if there was a right and wrong way to install reverse blades.
  8. I have used Spectraply from Cousineau Wood Products to turn pens, bottle stoppers, ect. Great stuff. They use to sell cut offs cheap.
  9. Many my projects I use 1/8" or 1/4" material. I like baltic birch but baltic birch is not available in my area and many wood suppliers try to sell be "sanded" birch plywood. So what is the difference? Any suggestions on what to use other than a hardwood? Jim Randleman, NC
  10. I have made a resolution that as of Jan.1, 2025 I plan to spend more time at the scroll saw and go to the Y's gym 2-3 times a week. So here is what I want to make: Toy's (I donate these) Intarsias Compound scroll sawing Band saw boxes using a scroll saw The compound and boxes will be a learning curve
  11. Thank you all for the info.
  12. I would like to get into compound scroll sawing. Any advice? I have looked at Steve Good site but would like some in depth instruction.
  13. Welcome from Central North Carolina. Cold here too, coldest in the 20+ years that I have lived in the Carolinas. A lot of great people and vendors on this site. Just ask questions and you will learn. Jim Randleman, NC

  17. I ran out of my 3M spray awhile back and the I used a headliner (for autos) spray adhesive that I had left over and very old at the time. Well it worked great and really stuck to the tape/pattern. Not sure what brand it was and I am not recommending it but just saying when in need there is always a way. LOL
  18. Danny please send me a chart. Thank you. [email protected]
  19. Denny Knappen is the go to guy for blade advice. He has helped me out several times.
