I have a Wen LL2156, 21 inch about $375 and had it for over a year now and really like it. I tried a Dewalt scroll saw at a woodworkers show and I could not tell the difference. The past year a have use it just about every day. Don't confuse this the cheap Wen 16 inch.
Found my noise. When I hold the machine down tightly, the noise goes away. I built a new bench and I think the normal vibrations of the machine are amplified by the empty and hollow bench. I think I should think of putting rubber pads under the machine and bolting it down will do the job. I made the top of the bench attached with a hinge so that i could adjust the saws slant. I used a large door hinge because that is what I had. I'm going to change that to a piano hinge before I bolt bolt the saw down.
Also as stated " the manual says all bearing are sealed and do not need lubrication".
Thanks for all the great help!
Should my scroll saw be a scroll saw be lubricated? I checked the manual and noting is said about lubrication. I have read here that some people say they should be lubricated with Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) some say 3in one oil. I have a WEN LL2156 21-Inch 1.6-Amp Variable Speed Parallel Arm Scroll Saw that is about 6 months old but now is making a noise that seems to be in the arm.
Directions should read: "Place first piece, then second piece, then next, unit all pieces are in place".
I do puzzles all the time and this is my strategy! LOL
Standing at my work bench using my scroll saw was killing my back so a made a wood stand for my scroll saw. I tried a few different heights and slants with the saw so I could see the whole cutting area while sitting. The question is: can I bolt the saw to the tabletop and not cause too much vibration? I sometimes find it difficult getting out of a chair and am afraid that I may grab onto the table and the saw ending up on me or the floor.
The photo(s) are of the table. I still have to work on the slant, so I am using temporary plywood slims until I find the right slant.
I am somewhat new to scroll sawing so please excuse this question if it has been covered before. I cut a lot of of 3/4" thick hardwoods and finish my wood cutouts with just a with a clear coat.
I was just wondering if a bees wax or any other product would help on the scroll saw blade without staining the wood? I have used bees wax on my bandsaw blades the past but these items were usually sanded and paint painted after cutting.

Well I took the plunge and purchased the Wen LL2156 21 inch Scroll saw. This fell into my budget so I took a chance. I have used it a few days now and it is like driving a Cadillac compared to the saw that I had before. I am very happy with the $370 Wen saw and I will keep a full review again in a few months.
My wife & I would like to get into some "sincerious" art grade scrolling. What brand of pinless blade would you all recommend? We have a good knowledge of the different types of blades for certain cuts and materials but is one brand better than another?

My wife is just getting into scroll sawing and would like to get a new saw but don't want to break the bank. Has anyone used the Wen LL2156 21 inch Scroll saw? This one sell for $360 which is in our price range. Please don't confuse this with the cheap $120 Wen scroll saw. We looked at some use high end saws in the $300-$400 range but they turned out to be junk.
