  1. I'm not keen on scrolling patterns as I prefer intarsia but I do like one day projects
  2. Before leaving for Tennessee and nc this week I had no intarsia patterns at least no new patterns so I went into Steve goods catalog and after making 2 for my daughter my best buddy saw the best teacher ever piece before my daughter picked it up and asked me if he could purchase 2 for his daughters both teachers and of course I'd never charge him he's been my go to person whenever I needed help lifting anything heavy as he lives near me i made these two unfortunately he never saw them He had a stroke in April and was put into a coma until he recovered months of therapy he came through 100 percent not allowed to drive but we were making plans for a road trip in November as long as doc gave him ok he was forced to retire 3 months early his retirement party a huge bash at his daughter house they rented a tent had 4 servers catering the whole nine yards I was getting ready last Saturday to go to his bash when a neighbor told me there's an ambulance in front of his house inrushed down there he came out with medics he looked at me and said great timing huh? it was an hour before his party he had a brainstorm hemorrhage at hospital and his brain died they kept him alive on machines for 24 hours to make sure no possibility of him surviving he's gone but I'll give these to his kids friday sorry about the back story it's torturing me he was so healthy never sick a day in his life really 66 years old and then I made another piece today and shop is closed

  6. That's exactly how I feel let them deliver it to my doorstep
  7. When I was a teen the magic number was 420
  8. Prolly right but my 5 year old grandson as well as his playground buddies love this stuff I think they feel it's a big boy thing I showed my grandson and his friend and they asked for one for each kid don't recall names why not I say the contrasting wood was from the last big intarsia hidden forest I used it as background and had alot of cut off pieces glad I didn't toss them
  9. 67 doesn't mean anything it's a joke to all the kids
  10. Might be a good project for those that do craft fairs 67 keychain or back pack zipper pull dont ask me why but my grandson and all his friends want them and I'm making one for each of them these are just two I made quickly less them 30 minutes but I'm sure stacking can make 6-10 an hour use up every piece of scrap you have
  11. Looked at his page yesterday and saw this was on his latest page my grandson got his hands on it and painted the flowers I stopped him but had to color it up
  12. condolences to the family.....sad, sad news.
  13. And I need to do something with this boat anchor I'm trying to get my son here tomorrow to help me give it one more shot or this becomes land fill it's a shame as I'm sure anyone can part this out motor works fine table surface is brand new etc jist that the kid works 3 jobs and helping his dad is a priority to me but he tries and then I feel guilty because I know I'm using up his free time having trouble uploading a picture of the excalibur saw blocking my wood rack
  14. Since I have yet another stent surgery this week coming up and a bunch of doctors appts in March I'm going to spend the first 3 weeks of April going at this i I need to be able to move it when I get back in may because I'm attempting to build an epoxy table with hotwheels sunk into it and I've never done epoxy but waiting for warm weather since this one is massive I built a rack so anytime I need to I can unscrew the base from work table and just put it on floor used whatever I had not fine woodworking but exactly what I wanted minuses yellow highlighter to mark pieces I'll have to eventually recut
  15. This is a huge pattern over 500 pieces
  16. So I went to the po Tuesday right before they closee tje manager or supervisor or whatever she is called told me a lot of mail was delayed due to blizzard so I told her tracking had it coming first Friday then Saturday before storm and it was now 3 days past the second date with no date on tracking anymore tracking said it's in transit but didn't says where she said give me a minute went into back and I waited and waited until someone else came out and said she will find out tomorrow and guess what at noon yesterday my pattern came probably would have sat in post office for 2 weeks if I didn't say anything
  17. Each pattern I order from intarsia .com there seems to be such problems with shipping by usps delays delays delays this new pattern I decided I'd get the digital download but it wasn't available so once again I'm at the mercy of the us post office i I don't like to bash as I have friends and nieghbors who work or worked for po but the truth is they stink with all this modern computer tracking they can't let me know when I'll get it or even if I will get it it was due here saturday now they can use blizzard as yet another excuse I love the Judy gale patterns but I guess I'll have to order hard copies 3 months in advance with hopes of getting them within 3 weeks
  18. tow p;atterns ago from intarsia.com it was delayed ofcourse, then I saw tracking it was in my local post office....next morning I expected it, but I saw they shipped it 250 miles north, then back to distribution center here, then again my po this tracking, and I dont know why intarsia uses the postal service.....anyway....tracking said saturday by 9 pm so up untiul 901 it said then, then it just stated package delayed...no more delivery date....its coming it says, but delayed....to me with all the computers its ridiculous a reason I never use the post office for just about anything.....as far as Im concerned they are a failed agency. so from tennessee to long island....ups or fed ex will take what 4 days, usps takes 2 weeks.
  19. no good, we had to cancel our trip next week, cant take the chance since more snow is expected wed thurs and friday. Im very dissapointed, I needed the distraction before I go in for the tough stent on the 6th.
  20. Sitting here waiting on blizzard to hit Long Island I decided I needed to get back into shop so I printed out this pattern figured yeah keep me busy today but I finished it in less then an hour as I had a lot of wood planes down waiting on intarsia pattern to be delivered but it's in the hands of post office so anyone's guess to when it arrives is just that a guess up until the tracking said last night it was on time now it says delayed with nothing else Anyway Spanish cedar and walnut tung oil and it's done
  21. wowser, incredible work.
  22. thanx. Im not there yet I guess using a larger blade as I do makes tight turns more of a chore, as I do alot of backing out of blade, but for me its about the accuracy. I hope to get to that point one day
