  1. I'm not sure if I can post this so if it's breaking rules I'm not offended if it's deleted the reason I say this is I was going to make another Steve good monster truck I blew up the wheel pattern 150 percent and decided to just make my own design not sure of it will work but I'll give it a shot i never designed anything except tables or cabinets so this is a stretch for me good thing if it fails it's not a large amount of wood im using the wheels I already cut but making my own pattern so this is where I'm not sure the wheels are goods patterns I hade them made i laid them out on grid paper and when I start cutting parts I'll mark off which lines I need to follow for each part i plan on making the cab 3 sections approx 4 inches wide with 2 side sections all accessories like roof rack spare tire fog lights etc will be measured an cut after I get initial body done so I don't waste a lot of time cutting them if I'm it happy with the results just finished pattern and made a bunch of copies I saw a bunch of these suv type beach buggies on the beaches in florida like broncos or jeeps all hyped up with over sized wheels so that's what I'm going for

  10. My wife wants it I was very surprised I showed her what a blue background would look like she wanted this color even though I'm not for a backing after 46 years of marriage I know the secret don't argue with the boss and always give her what she wants Tung oil finish I might add another coat tomorrow back isn't attached yet

  12. Made a mistake here I felt my leg burning as I turned on the small floor heater next to scroll and bent down to move air flow but my hand slipped and I advanced a cut too far second pic shows advanced mistake cut used walnut on this piecei I need to sand and clean up some rough spots but it's finished as far as cutting ill apply some oil to give it a deep rich color and I'll see if I want to add a colored background or not the only difference from his pattern is I rounded over the edge on the base ill keep this piece since I made the error but I like it my nephew had a few fish tanks he's really into his tanks and told me he's taking the angel fish piece since he has angel fish so I won't show him this one hehehehe
  13. when we went down to biloxi a few years back, I think the second or third time, my wife made me drive to a small town hamilton missouri....the home of missouri star quilt company. this woman started out of her house, then her son brought her to internet, and she is one of the largest retail dealers of quilting supplies in this country.....the town has maybe a dozen stores owned by her company, its actually all there is there, besides a restaurant and a small motel, which she probably owns also. was out of my way, but my wife had to go. in july we will head down to nc and stop outside of ashville, weaverville, another one of my wifes favorite stores, and we were glad to hear she didnt suffer damage during that hurricane in ashville, as weaverville is only a few miles north of ashville. and out of all the stores weve visited, the only store we found a nasty owner was in chicago. its like she didnt want us in there spending money, so we left. and we have found stores in the corn fields of nebraska, south dakota, in the mojave desert over in arizona, near the airport in reno nevada, and so on and so on.
  14. We road trip all over the country and have found quilt shops out in the middle of nowhere my favorite was while driving from Blackhawk Colorado to deadwood South Dakota we stopped overnight in a city called lusk lusk wyoming trust me there's nothing in the town but it had a large active quilt store we also visit a lot of the stores my wife orders from

  16. Made this for my wife who has become an avid quilter Spanish cedar no finish 3/4 inch thick took me approx 8 hours of time ive seen quilting queen plaques made of wood for 5.99 so scrolling is not a way to make money I'm guessing to site administration if I'm putting too many of this small scroll projects on here please feel free well I mean you can erase them if they are using too much bandwidth not sure if I should keep posting these small projects

  20. A lot more difficult for me as I'm not experienced at all the fret work but I believe it came out ok 5 hours 45 minutes into this project all pieces are cut need to fine sand then fit the dado into the base better I chose maple and poplar as this one I'm painting wanted bright colors wood can't offer heres where I'm at days over gotta go get my grandson out school and bring him to speech therapy lotta driving but it is what it is im the uber grandpa like so many others here I'm sure The 1/8 th thick pieces I'm glad I told Mr goods advice and stack cut because one tail snapped off when I was trying to take tape off glad I had another piece
  21. Thanx for advice I take it all in ive been a member of other woodworking sites and never understood when someone would shrug off advice i figure there are 10's of thousands of hours of experience betweeen all the members so why not use it to my advantage and I always appreciate it i had a great neighbor he was a fireman who served during 911 and ended up with leukemia from the dust but he was a partime contractor and could fix or build anything since I'm not mechanically inclined I'd go to him all the time when I had a problem with a machine or mechanical issue mynwife used to tell me leave him alone but he told me he never minded even near the end when sometimes he couldn't even stand up I'd bring it to him and his wisdom and skill always prevailed he he passed 2 years ago after a long battle I miss him and he loved to always see what I was working on i bring his wife little things I make all the time
