  1. I like the blue look also. Only thing is we get a little distorted blue due to the yard background. It is nice and there is no wonder the Lady loved it.
  2. Do not overlook the Delta Go to Scroll Saw Reviews....right here in SSV Read whatever reviews there are
  3. Beautiful necklace. Very attractive
  4. Cute little cut........ Sounds stupid that 25+- lines has a copyright......nah. Dick, thank you for showing this, your granddaughter will enjoy this for ages.
  5. Yes it is very good. And I like the idea of using colored plexiglass..... Thanks.
  6. Welcome backto scrolling. I betcha there are a lot of Old Friends here.
  7. I did a search for ... boiled linseed oil and poly. Got lots of hits http://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/articles/make-your-own-oil-varnish-blend/ Oh, and thanks for bringing this up. I may try it also. And I read to only mix what you need.
  8. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
  9. Be interesting what's in it. Not asking you to share, just let us know what you think. Also, I like that saying, "Nothing difficult is ever easy" that should be 'Word Art' and want to pass it along to Bobscroll ...hope you don't mind.
  10. Hav e you scraped wood instead of sand? “How to Use a Cabinet Scraper | Woodworking†— I did not know this until yesterday. Scrape to smooth wood surface. I might try this.
  11. I don't know when I started. I'll guess it was about the 'Turn of the Century' ... Maybe year 2000. So I am somewhere near 15 years. Gee, I've only had three scrollsaws...My first was a Dremel...... The other two are Dewalts that I am scrolling with now.
  12. Changing a blade can make you or break you from scrolling. Hard to change a blade can actually be the draw back that has you stop scrolling. When it isn't fun........ If you are considering an upgrade..... blade change is a feature to check out. Hey, hope this makes cents(:>) ... it is 1:40 am here... just woke to potty... now maybe make a sandwich...
  13. Beautifully finished Ron. That is so nice.
  14. Congratulations. You are a professional speaker now. I smiled when I read it went well, great!!!! Now, was the Ex a speakers fee or did you just fall in love and have to have it?
  15. That 'Heart' you selected is just perfect. The whole design is outstanding. Also, the wood is super smooth looking. Add nothing more. Except maybe a removable stand.
  16. It takes me about 15 to 20 seconds to change blades, thread and begin cutting. Primarily I use .026 x .011 blades. Others are .022 x .008 ... .029 x .013 Largest blade I use is about .035 x .015 When I am finished cutting a piece of fretwork..... some of what I have already cut is still too small to fit a .100 x .018 blade in. I have Delta saws..... 40-690 & 40-694 (I think thats the numbers)
  17. Inspiring! They are nice.
  18. Welcome to THe Scroll Saw Village. Pleased to have you .
  19. Welcome Mister H. Pleased to have you.
  20. Welcome Jim. as Dan said, there are many willing to help. At least three answers to every question and all correct. Scrolling is fun. The more you do the more you want to do.
  21. My neighbor Vince is redoing his grandparents home. The home was built in 1887. Here is a board he removed from the house. He plans on lightly sanding it and using it as a cabinet top. This board was wider than what is shown. This is what he saved when he removed it. I'm guessing it is 36" wide by 68" tall. I can almost imagine the tree, a Pine, Hemlock or maybe a Spruce, a soft wood. So big, three men cannot span their arms around it. Over a 100 feet tall. What I cannot imagine is how it was sawn. A two man saw? How long did it take? All in all, it is the widest board I have seen. Oh, by the way... Vince is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 320 pounds... Notice, the board hides him.
  22. Vikki, PM Travis and ask him about company has been out of business for nearly a century and posting pattern(s). Hey, possibly the Library of Congress has a copy. Do you know the name of the catalog
  23. Welcome to Scroll Saw Village and pleased to have another experienced scroller here. I am so sorry for your loss and now our loss also. Have you taken pictures of all you saved? You said you have some photos. Again, welcome.
  24. All of them are funny. Plays on words. Thank you for the smiles.
