  1. If you have excel or another word processing program its easy to size your pattern to any size you want. 1- open excel 2- insert picture 3- grab the little side thingy to make it the size you want 4- view in page layout. this will show you the page breaks. If your patterns are pdfs, print it out first. scan it or take a picture with your phone and email it to yourself. Use that as your jpg. 4-
  2. Spray glue all the way. the trick is a very very light coat/ Then let it dry for at least 15 minutes. Then apply to the wood. Stays in place for the work, comes right off when done.
  3. I put the old blades right back into the mix with the new ones. They will break on their own eventually so no big deal. I knocked a bunch of blades over the other day which was a pisser. of course they dont just fall straight down, they have to go under every little thing. Still finding them laying around. No idea what size they are. i just sort of bend them a little and can pretty much tell.
  4. Just finished this piece.
  5. I am the worst with cardboard boxes. I hate to throw them away. I always tell myself I will use them some day. I never do so I have them stacked all over the place and stuff laying around not in boxes. Go figure.
  6. I used to keep everything nice and tidy and throw out even decent sized scraps but I have changed to hoarding them now. I use the scraps all the time now for just about every project so i learned my lesson. Wood is expensive so i am keeping this scraps. I do have a box filled with tiny pieces that I use for things like letters and such. keeps it somewhat organized but not much.
  7. Whatever you do dont do it in your dining room. I thought it would be fun to play with mine in the dining room and I think i am still cleaning sawdust off of everythig a year later.
  8. Just give it to the grand kid you dont like. lol
  9. I always look at these sort of things through a tattoo artists eye. You can walk into any tattoo shop and get a star wars or disney tattoo that screams star wars on it. George Lucas nor his lawyers are not going to come to your house and make you remove the tattoo. Of course if you have a sign proclaiming they are officially licensed Disney items, then they will have an issue with it. Just be respectful and everyone wins. I used to sell Ebay logos on Ebay and they never said a word about it.
  10. Sorts of depends who is going to eat out of it. Thinking mother in law here. lol
  11. If your computer is more than 5 years old they did you a favor pretty much. You can restore it, you just need to hit a certain combination of keys on start up. It will put everything back to where it was but it wont change its age. Not sure this is the issue but many many times it is.
  12. Good call. Might start using that on my trash bags. I get to the point where I just cant figure them out and just cut a corner to get them open.
  13. I have a dewalt and its a great saw for sure. I used to use a small delta shopmatser I think it was called. It was a fine saw but had its drawbacks with blade changes and such. I usually only cut 1/8" bb so I do sometimes feel the dewalt is too much saw for the task but thats a pretty small thing to complain about. I have had zero troubles with it and I did have to do a bit of maintenance and parts replacing on the little delta. Not apples to apples but thats my experience for what its worth.
  14. Thats really cool looking. I would be hesitant to actually let anyone play with them. lol
  15. My piece for this mothers day really is not anything special but its the first time I have actually drawn the artwork myself. Just a crude flower but still its a start being able to draw my own stuff and not have to rely on anything or anyone else.
  16. I use clear glue I bought at hobby lobby. Its sort of like clear wood glue. What I found happens is a little squeezes out the side of the letters so you cant tell if you use the clear stuff. I dont know about the weather part as I never leave my stuff outside.
  17. Here is what you can quickly do with it.
  18. Simple solution. Dont use blue tape. Just a light coat of spray in the pattern and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Put it on the wood and cut. peels right off, no hassles. Takes some experimenting but once you have it dialed in, you will never look back.
  19. They are hanging just about every square inch of wall space I have plus a bunch are stacked up waiting for their turn. I also have some in big boxes.
  20. I use a piece of white or black foam backer. I lay it on the floor and put the item on it and stand over it and take the pics. Seems to help get a nice straight angle without too much hassle. Tried hanging them on the wall but it never works out right.
  21. Thanks, Its spray painted. I cut it all out, save the little pieces and spray paint them. Then glue it all back together.
  22. Here is a piece I just finished.
  23. Got my headphones last night, very comfortable and they work and feel great. Thanks for the tip.
